Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life. Here guidance from Quran for the followers of Islam (الإنْسَانُ وَإِعْمَارُ الأَرْضِ: Man and the Colonization of the Earth ) is discussed wrt social life aspects such as building the colonies of human and eco-friendly process for earth for better living from Quran and Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. This is an approved Jumma Khutba from the Sultanate of Oman and translated in English.
In the name of ALLAH, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Man and the Colonization of the Earth
Praise be to Allah who created man and made him a successor on earth and gave him a high and honorable place in it. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is alone. He has no partner. ALLAH has made man believe in happiness, the construction of this world and the hereafter and interaction with the events of life. I bear witness that our Lord and Master, Hazrat Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the servant of God and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sent by his Lord with a religion that guarantees mankind a moderate life in which there is neither excess nor deficiency. There is a commitment to balance and moderation in all matters. Blessings and peace be upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow him righteously until the Day of Resurrection - The translation of the recited verses is as follows.
Allah Ta'ala Al-Azujal's decree is in Al-Aishan Surah Hud
He brought you forth from the earth and settled you therein,
Surah Hood – 61-Part
If we look carefully, before the settlement of the land (colonization), the meaning of the word conquest has been mentioned that Allah Almighty has created all the creatures including this earth for the benefit of man. However, it was also stipulated that man should not take wrong advantage of this earth and all other creatures and should not destroy them. Rather, settle this land and preserve its natural beauty forever. He says in Surah Al-Jatiyyah:
And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth;
Surah Al Jathiya – 13-Part
Allah Ta'ala Al-Azujal's says is in Surah Ibrahim:
and He has made the ships to be of service to you, that they may sail through the sea by His Command; and He has made rivers (also) to be of service to you.
Surah Ibrahim – 32-Part
From another aspect, the Holy Quran says with special emphasis that all the creations of Allah Almighty have been created for the benefit of man, as stated in Surah Al-Baqarah:
He it is Who created for you all that is on earth.
Surah Al Baqara – 29-Part
O people of Allah, fear Allah - have piety and obey Allah - Islam is a religion that invites people to seek knowledge and encourages them to progress both in this world and in the Hereafter, so as to achieve the desired balance, what all can be done, which Allah Ta'ala has made as a prominent feature of this existence. It involves focusing on the immediate and ignoring the future, or conversely lack of balance, distraction and abandonment. Regarding the correct ways and its paths, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray to his Lord for the good of this world and the hereafter, which is mentioned in Surah
Al-Baqarah:
"Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and save us from the torment of the Fire!"
Surah Al Baqara – 201-Part
O believers, this is a comprehensive prayer for the welfare of both worlds. Good and beneficial intention in the lives of both worlds, every worldly need of health and wellness for the good of this world, spacious home, happy married life and prosperity, spacious heart, blessed, abundant sustenance, useful knowledge, wise strategy and good conversation is included. As for the blessings of the Hereafter, it is a blessing from Allah and the result is entry into Paradise. Bliss and therein is great goodness, and lasting blessing, glory and honor.
When Qarun turned his attention to the world and turned away from the Hereafter, some of his people, who had been given knowledge, advised and guided him. They reminded him and warned him that his deviation from concern for the Hereafter and concern only for this world is deviation from the truth, misguidance and alienation. So, the true believer is really the one who works for the hereafter and does not forget his worldly life, he achieves the desired balance, so they said to him as it is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an in Surah Al-Qasas:
But seek, with that (wealth) which Allâh has bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of lawful enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allâh has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allâh likes not the Mufsidûn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters).
Surah Al Qasas – 77
O, servants of Allah - It is said in a hadith:
The best of you is not he who leaves this world for the Hereafter, nor the Hereafter for this world, but the best of you is he who leads from it to it.
O believers, the day that man gets is a treasure for him and he should spend it in useful and productive activities. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to welcome each new day with humility and a contrite heart. And supplicates to Allah, the Lord, the Hearer and the Answerer, to provide him with his good and the best of what is in him. And endowing him with creative work, and by observing good conduct, thus man's day will be good and his life will be prolonged, for man's life is nothing but passing days. If it is full of effort, struggle and movement Allah Ta'ala will bless him if he goes through a period full of blessings – Because the meaning of blessing is persistence of goodness and goodness. Then its permanent and continuous blessing of the worldly life is transferred with the believer who lives in this world as long as he believes in God, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, says.
When one of you rises in the morning, he should say: The morning has come, and the kingdom belongs to Allah. O Allah, I ask You about the goodness of this day, its victory and its success. I seek refuge in Your blessing and His guidance, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what is in it and from the evil that comes after it. Then when it is dusk, let him say the same.
Islam is a religion that is neither hostile to life nor quarrels with it nor does it allow a believer to live at its extremes, rather it wants useful work in all areas of life, in the fields Be active, and eager to excel in affairs, be foremost among those who have contributed to the building up of the life of this world, and for the pleasure of Allah. To achieve this goal, Islam encourages the acquisition of knowledge in all its aspects, and in all its branches, including the human, animal, botanical, natural and aesthetic sciences, in the diversity of forms and colors, from which... you will benefit from it in architecture and the Holy Qur'an. Allah, the Exalted, has linked this with His well-known and observed miracle in two great verses, where Allah says Surah Fatir:
See you not that Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, and We produce therewith fruits of varying colours, and among the mountains are streaks white and red, of varying colours and (others) very black (27) And likewise of men and Ad¬Dawâbb (moving (living) creatures, beasts), and cattle, of various colours. It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is All¬Mighty, Oft¬Forgiving.
Surah Fatir – 27-28
He who escapes from the life of the world in order not to participate in its development, fails to perform an indispensable duty - inaction is a bad and reprehensible attitude – Otherwise, it is the source of success, excellence, happiness, confidence and peace in the field of life and in all available fields. It is not correct to say that seclusion and abandoning the world is worship. By removing one's hand from the world, one attains happiness, and it is not correct to say that giving up worldly activities is a Sunnah. Rather, it is deviation and distance from the rules of Islam. Allah Ta'ala has invited all people to know the secrets of this universe. And to discover its secrets and to know the secrets of the human soul. Allah promised them that if they do so, He will make things easier for them. And the closed doors should be opened to them, so that they may eventually reap fruits and obtain good things, the most important of which is faith and knowledge in Allah. did not create Allah Almighty says in Surah Al-Faslat:
We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things? (53) How! Are they still in doubt about the meeting with their Lord? Lo! Is not He surrounding all things?
Surah Fussilat – 53
And at another place in Surah Yunus, Allah Almighty said:
Say: "Behold all that is in the heavens and the earth,
Surah Yunus – 101-Part
When faith in Allah Almighty is established in the heart, then the organs, heart and mind move forward to do righteous deeds, hasten to righteous deeds and compete with knowledge and teach inventions.
So people of Allah, fear Allah - and know that whoever wants to reach the Hereafter cannot reach it except by passing through the life of this world. May he adorn his life with faith, and reach the hereafter with peace and security.
=========================================================
All praises are due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds - He exhorts His servants to work in all its forms and fields and commands that decisions be made based on their goals and objectives. We bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner, and we bear witness that our Lord and Master Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, peace and blessings be upon you and your family. And upon your Companions and upon those who follow them. them in good deeds until the Day of Resurrection.
O people of Allah, fear Allah. Allah wants aspects of human activity to increase, including agriculture, industry, trade, handicrafts and other activities, so that mankind contributes to construction and urbanization, and can further work according to his abilities. Islam views any work that contributes to development, progress and construction as not honorable work. It is a privilege to work in any legitimate profession and in any good field. Because with this work, on the one hand, a person removes the humiliation of need and on the other hand, he serves his homeland and his country.
And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who set an example for the world, took up the profession of a shepherd in his youth and mentioned it with pride when he was old, and said about it: Allah did not send any prophet, but he looked after the sheep and goats. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, added: And I used to take care of these goats and cattle in small quantities for the people of Makkah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also gave an example of the profession of his brother, the Prophet of Allah, Dawud (peace be upon him), who worked as a blacksmith, and said: No one used to eat food... better than eating with the work of his hands. Nothing and Prophet of Allah Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) used to eat with the work of his hands.
O people of Allah, the hand that does not work, practice a skill, or contribute to reconstruction and development is a paralyzed hand, and the mind that does not contribute to invention, innovation, research and development. It is the mind that has neglected its mission and lost its task and message. So, O people of Allah, fear Allah - and know that whoever comes to this world with firm determination and right insight, believing in Allah. He will go to the Hereafter with a balance of good deeds, thanks to which he will be qualified.
May Allah reward you well and grant you a high place in Jannat al-Firdous.
