التَّثَـبُّتُ في الأَخْبَارِ مَنْهَجُ الأَخْيَارِ : Confirming the news is the approach of the good people

Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life. Here guidance from Quran for the followers of Islam (التَّثَـبُّتُ في الأَخْبَارِ مَنْهَجُ الأَخْيَارِ Confirming the news is the approach of the good people ) is discussed wrt social life aspects, especially in social media era, such as confirming the news is the approach of the good people for better living from Quran and Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. This is an approved Jumma Khutba from the Sultanate of Oman and translated in English.

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of ALLAH, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

التَّثَـبُّتُ في الأَخْبَارِ مَنْهَجُ الأَخْيَارِ 

Confirming the news is the approach of the good people

الحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي حَثَّ عَلَى التَّثَبُّتِ وَالتَّأَنِّي، وَجَعَلَ الوُصُولَ إِلَيْهِمَا بِالعَمَلِ لا بِالتَّمَنِّي، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيـكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا وَنَبِيَّنَا مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ، أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ حِرْصًا عَلَى فِعْلِ الخَيْرِ، وَأَبْعَدُهُمْ عَمَّا فِيهِ ضُرٌّ وَشَرٌّ، صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلامُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ، وَالتَّابِعِينَ لَهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ إلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

 أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فاعوذ باللہ من الشیطان الرجیم- بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم 

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيكُمۡ نَارً۬ا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَيۡہَا مَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ۬ شِدَادٌ۬ لَّا يَعۡصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ 

Surah At Tahreem – 6

رَبِّ ٱشۡرَحۡ لِى صَدۡرِى. وَيَسِّرۡ لِىٓ أَمۡرِى- وَٱحۡلُلۡ عُقۡدَةً۬ مِّن لِّسَانِى- يَفۡقَهُواْ قَوۡلِى- آمین ثم آمین

Surah Taha – 25-28

Thanks be to Allah who inspires persistence and prudence achieved through action and not wishful thinking. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He has no partner. I bear witness that our master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the servant of God and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the most virtuous among people and the most aloof from evil. Peace and blessings be upon you, peace and blessings of God be upon you, your family, companions, and those who follow them righteously until the Day of Resurrection - Translation of the recited verse

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًۭا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌۭ شِدَادٌۭ لَّا يَعْصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ٦

O believers! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, overseen by formidable and severe angels, who never disobey whatever Allah orders—always doing as commanded.

Surah At Tahreem – 6

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

O you who believe! Be afraid of Allâh, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds). 

Surah Al Tawba – 119

O you who believe, know that Allah may make me and you among those who are steadfast - prudence or moderation in affairs is the best thing for which the wise strive, and the pious believers rush to it. The cause of his great virtue and goodness for all mankind is his caution in affairs, and for this reason the Holy Qur'an drew attention to him and the Sunnah of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, encouraged him. Allah Ta'ala said in Surah Hujarat

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن جَآءَكُمۡ فَاسِقُۢ بِنَبَإٍ۬ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْ أَن تُصِيبُواْ قَوۡمَۢا بِجَهَـٰلَةٍ۬ فَتُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلۡتُمۡ نَـٰدِمِينَ

O you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar — evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.

Surah Al Hujraat – 6

Servants of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, the Most High, commanded us to be clear in our affairs, and not to follow anyone who claims or pretends something incomprehensible. So that we do not accuse someone ignorantly, then regret, or there is no time to regret, and people do not fall into error, the Holy Qur'an ordered in Surah Al-Israa in Furqan Hameed.

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ‌ۚ 

 And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge.

Surah Al Isra – 36-Part

O believers, this is a clear indication that a person should only talk about what he knows and does well, and not talk about anything until That he does not believe. He said in Surah Al-Asr

إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔولاً۬ 

Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those one will be questioned (by Allâh). 

Surah Al Isra – 36-Part

Thus, Islam orders confirmation in case of doubt. It is said in Surah An-Nisa

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُواْ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَنۡ أَلۡقَىٰٓ إِلَيۡڪُمُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمَ لَسۡتَ مُؤۡمِنً۬ا

O you who believe! When you go (to fight) in the Cause of Allâh, verify (the truth), and say not to anyone who greets you (by embracing Islâm): "You are not a believer";

Surah An Nisa – 94-Part

And consider what Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) said about Hud Hud, which is described in Surah Al-Naml.

قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقۡتَ أَمۡ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَـٰذِبِينَ

[Sulaimân (Solomon)] said: "We shall see whether you speak the truth or you are (one) of the liars

Surah Al Naml – 27-Part

It proves that authentication is an important and laudable matter and failure to do so is reprehensible. And in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, it was also pointed out that in the matter of speech, everyone should think about it before it comes out of his mouth. Because this word can bring destruction to him. He said

إنَّ العَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالكَلِمَةِ مَا يَتَبَيَّنُ مَا فِيهَا، يَهْوِي بِهَا فِي النَّارِ أَبْعَدَ مَا بَيْنَ المَشْرِقِ وَالمَغْرِبِ

The servant utters a word as long as he does not know what is in it, and with it he falls into the Fire as far as the distance between the East and the West. Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 7482

One of the most important things that must be confirmed is attributing anything to Allah Ta'ala, or talking about anything without knowledge. Its consequences are serious and its commission is a grave sin. He said in Surah Al-A'raf

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلۡفَوَٲحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنۡہَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلۡإِثۡمَ وَٱلۡبَغۡىَ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَن تُشۡرِكُواْ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ سُلۡطَـٰنً۬ا وَأَن تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawâhish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse,) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allâh for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allâh of which you have no knowledge."

Surah Al A'raaf - 33

And to attribute something to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not say. As he said

مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ

Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in Hell. Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 4

If something can be attributed to the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, only on the basis of knowledge. Likewise, the denial of something about them being proven should not be based on desire or inclination, but rather with knowledge, and that includes issuing fatwas without knowledge or benefiting people without knowledge, such as That it was narrated from him

مَنْ أَفْتَى مَسْأَلَةً أَوْ فَسَّرَ رُؤْيَا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا وَقَعَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَصَادَفَ بِئْرًا لا قَعْرَ لَهَا

Whoever gives a fatwa on a question or interprets a vision without knowledge, it is as if he fell from the sky and came upon a bottomless well. Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith No. 3657

An important form of faith when judging people is caution, because it leads to many losses and great calamities, so one should not be hasty in judging people. It is not correct in deciding on others that the interest of ruling over others prevails in it. Not being hasty in completing matters is a sign of a person's mind and a proof of his intelligence and consciousness, and what many people are suffering from today is haste.Without thought and delay in conveying the news through the media, it is as if some of them were in a rush to report the news earlier and they forgot. May Allah guide them - the hadith of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace

كَفَى بِالمَرْءِ كَذِبًا أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِكُلِّ مَا سَمِعَ

It is enough of a lie for a man to narrate everything he hears. Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 7

So, O servants of Allah, fear Allah and take steadfastness as a guide in everything and be cautious before starting matters.

أقولُ مَا تَسْمَعُونَ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ العَظِيمَ لِي وَلَكُمْ، فَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ، إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُالرَّحِيمُ، وَادْعُوهُ يَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ، إِنَّهُ هُوَ البَرُّ الكَرِيمُ

Say this, I ask forgiveness from Allah for me and for you, so ask Him for forgiveness and He will forgive you. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. And call upon Him and He will answer you, for He is generous in righteousness.

   الحَمْدُ للَّهِ الَّذِي أَكْرَمَنَا بِالعَقْلِ، وَجَعَلَهُ سَبَبًا لِلْحُكْمِ الحَسَنِ وَالوَعْيِ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيـكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا وَنَبِيَّنَا مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ، أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ عَقْلًا، وَأَفْضَلُهُمْ قَوْلًا وَفِعْلًا، صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلامُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ، وَمَنْ سَلَكَ مَسْلَكَهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ

Praise be to the Lord Almighty who has blessed us with wisdom, and made it the cause of good judgment and awareness, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He has no partner. I bear witness that our master Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the best of people with the best mind and the best in words and deeds. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, his family, his companions and those who follow his path until the Day of Resurrection.

O Muslim Ummah, Allah Ta'ala has blessed you with wisdom, and blessed you with good understanding, and has made it part of gratitude for His blessing to use it in something useful, such as caution. I make time. Matters, and to act after thinking and examining, and making for them wisdom, secrets, benefits and effects, for among the benefits is to avoid error. The more a man delays a matter appropriately, the more likely it is that the matter will turn out right, free from defects. The encouragement to trust the people of faith and the encouragement to believe in them is what Allah Almighty said in Surah Anwar.

لَّوۡلَآ إِذۡ سَمِعۡتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِہِمۡ خَيۡرً۬ا وَقَالُواْ هَـٰذَآ إِفۡكٌ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬

Why then, did not the believers, men and women, when you heard it (the slander) think good of their own people and say: "This (charge) is an obvious lie[]?"

Surah Al Noor – 12

One of its main advantages is that it protects one from the remorse of conscience resulting from haste. He said in Surah Hujarat

فَتُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلۡتُمۡ نَـٰدِمِينَ

and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.

Surah Al Hujraat – 6-Part

A society that thinks well, works patiently and does not rush lives in peace and tranquility. Because matter will not come without knowledge, and he will not approach it without thinking, and he will not act according to his desires, then there will be a society that loves others. He has good faith in her, does not look for her harm, does not trace her slippage, is calm, careful, and aware of what comes and goes.

So, O people of Allah, fear Allah - and know that confirming the news is the vision of the righteous and the slogan of the wise.

O people of Allah, always remember this decree of Allah

قُلۡ يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسۡرَفُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُواْ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

کہہ دو اے میرے بندو جنہوں نے اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا ہے الله کی رحمت سے مایوس نہ ہو بے شک 

الله سب گناہ بخش دے گا بے شک وہ بخشنے والا رحم والا ہے

Say: "O 'Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh, verily Allâh forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Surah Az Zumr – 53

هَذَا وَصَلُّوا وَسَلِّمُوا عَلَى إمَامِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ؛ مُحَمَّدٍ الهَادِي الأَمِينِ، فَقَدْ أَمَرَكُمْ رَبكُمْ بذَلكَ حينَ قَالَ

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓٮِٕڪَتَهُ ۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

Surah Al Ahzaab – 56

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وسَلِّم عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ وسَلَّمتَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، وَارْضَ اللَّهُمَّ عَنْ خُلَفَائِهِ الرَّاشِدِينَ، وَعَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَعَنْ سَائِرِ الصَّحَابَةِ أَجْمَعِينَ، وَعَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، وعَنْ جَمْعِنَا هَذَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ جَمْعَنَا هَذَا جَمْعًا مَرْحُوْمًا، وَاجْعَلْ تَفَرُّقَنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ تَفَرُّقًا مَعْصُوْمًا وَلا تَدَعْ فِينَا وَلا مَعَنَا شَقِيًّا وَلا مَحْرُومًا

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلامَ وَاهْدِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى الْحَقِّ، وَاجْمعْ كَلِمَتَهُمْ عَلَى الخَيْرِ، وَاكْسِرْ شَوْكَةَ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَاكْتُبِ السَّلامَ وَالأَمْنَ لِعِبادِكَ أَجْمَعِينَ 

اللَّهُمَّ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ يَا ذَا الجَلالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ بِكَ نَستَجِيرُ وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ نَستَغِيثُ أَلاَّ تَكِلَنَا إِلَى أَنفُسِنَا طَرفَةَ عَينٍ، وَلاَ أَدنَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَصلِحْ لَنَا شَأْنَنَا كُلَّهُ يَا مُصلِحَ شَأْنِ الصَّالِحِينَ

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا احْفَظْ أَوْطَانَنَا وَأَعِزَّ سُلْطَانَنَا وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَيِّدْ بِهِ الْحَقَّ يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ أَسْبِغْ عَلَيْهِ نِعمَتَكَ، وَأَيِّدْهُ بِنُورِ حِكْمَتِكَ، وَسَدِّدْهُ بِتَوفِيقِكَ، وَاحفَظْهُ بِعَينِ رعَايَتِكَ

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِ السَّمَاء وَأَخْرِجْ لَنَا مِنْ خَيْرَاتِ الأَرْضِ، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا في ثِمَارِنَا وَزُرُوعِنَا وكُلِّ أَرزَاقِنَا يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا في الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالمُؤْمِنَات، المُسْلِمِينَ وَالمُسْلِمَات، الأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالأَمْوَاتِ، إِنَّكَ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبُ الدُّعَاءِ

عِبَادَ الله إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنِ وَإِيتَآىِٕ ذِى ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَيَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنڪَرِ وَٱلۡبَغۡىِ‌ۚ يَعِظُكُمۡ لَعَلَّڪُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ

بے شک الله انصاف کرنے کا اوربھلائی کرنے کا اور رشتہ داروں کو دینے کا حکم کرتا ہے اوربے حیائی اوربری بات اور ظلم سے منع کرتا ہے تمہیں سمجھاتا ہے تاکہ تم سمجھو

Surah An Nahl-90

We pray to Allah Ta'ala to grant us the ability to know, understand and follow the commands of God and to encourage our families and relatives to join in these actions. Amen then Amen

وآخر دعوانا ان الحمد للہ رب العالمین- سبحان ربک رب العزة عما يصفون، وسلام على المرسلين، والحمد لله رب العالمين
