Allâh does not like that evil should be uttered in public

Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life. Here guidance from Quran for the followers of Islam (لَّا يُحِبُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ :Allâh does not like that evil should be uttered in public) is discussed wrt social life aspects such as the evil of calling each others with bad names for better human living from Quran and Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. This is an approved Jumma Khutba from the Sultanate of Oman and translated in English.

Allâh does not like that evil should be uttered in public.

Surah Al Ahzab – 70-71

Surah Taha – 25-28

Praise be to Allah, the First Creator and the Regenerator (the One who revives after death) and He has commanded mankind to speak the right words. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner. I bear witness that Muhammad, may God's prayers and peace be upon him, is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, possessed of commendable morals and characterized by good conversation. Blessings and peace be upon him, upon his family, upon his companions, upon the righteous. Translation of the recited verse

O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. (70) He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and will be admitted to Paradise). (71)

Surah Al Ahzab – 70-71

O servants of Allah, fear Allah - be pious and obey Allah and create goodness in your words. Because it is good deeds and forgiveness of sins. He says in Surah Al-Ahzab:

O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. (70) He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and will be admitted to Paradise). (71)

Surah Al Ahzab – 70-71

O you who believe, Allah Almighty says in Surah Al-Nisa

Allâh does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allâh is Ever All¬Hearer, All¬Knower. (148)

Surah An Nisa – 148

Servants of Allah, this verse has made it clear that Allah loves good words and calls to speak good and correct words. He does not like anyone to speak obscenities. No Muslim should say bad words because Allah Ta'ala commanded His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to speak the best to protect people from Satan's temptations and whispers. Allah Almighty says in Surah Israa:

And say to My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitân (Satan) verily, sows state of conflicit and disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitân (Satan) is to man a plain enemy. (53)

Surah Al Isra – 53

O you who believe, Allah has described the word good in Surah Ibrahim with the stability of its origin and the quality of its fruit.

See you not how Allâh sets forth a parable? - A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). (24) Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord and Allâh sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember. (25)

Surah Ibrahim – 24-25

The Messenger of Mercy and Guidance, peace and blessings be upon him, tells us that on the Day of Resurrection, those who have the best words and deeds will be those who have good morals. They also tell us that the most hateful words in the sight of Allah Ta'ala are obscenities and obscenities. On the authority of Sayyidina Abul-Darda, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

On the Day of Judgement, nothing will be heavier in the balance of a believer than good conduct, and indeed, Allah does not like the one who speaks foul language and lies.

Abusive language and the courage to speak ill of people are not among the qualities of a believer or his attributes because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

Hazrat Ibn Masoud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A believer is one who neither taunts (someone) and nor curses and is not obscene and is not frivolous and slanderous.

So, O people of success, be among those who restrain their tongues from speaking inappropriately and follow the command of Allah in Surah Al-Baqarah.

and speak good to people

Surah Al Baqara – 83-Part

Responding to insults with kindness, suppressing anger and forgiving sins are among the characteristics of believers, and O intelligent person, do you not see what Allah has commanded in Surah An-Nisa? Said:

Whether you (mankind) disclose (by good words of thanks) a good deed (done to you in the form of a favour by someone), or conceal it, or pardon an evil, … verily, Allâh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, All-Powerful. (149)

Surah An Nisa – 149

In response to this decree of Allah Ta'ala, they have established themselves on what is best and perfect in speech and action. Which was described in Surah Faslat as follows:

The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allâh orders the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. (34) But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient - and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and of a high moral character) in this world. (35)

Surah Fussilat – 34-35

So, O people of Allah, fear Allah. He says in Surah Al-Imran:

And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2). (133) Those who spend [in Allâh's Cause] in prosperity and in adversity,[] who repress anger,[] and who pardon men; verily, Allâh loves Al-Muhsinûn[] (the good - doers). (134) And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allâh and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allâh - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know.[].

Surah Aal E Imran – 133-134

Say this, I ask forgiveness from Allah for me and you, so ask Him for forgiveness and He will forgive you. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. And call upon Him and He will answer you, for He is generous and righteous.

========================================================

    الحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ الكِتَابَ، وَجَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً فَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الأَلْبَابِ، وَنَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيـكَ لَهُ، وَنَشْهَدُ أَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ الصَّادِقُ الأَوَّابُ، صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلامُهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ المُحْسِنِينَ فِي الخِطَابِ

All praise is due to Allah, who revealed the Book to His servant and made the day and night continuous, so let the wise remember. We bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He alone has no partner, and we bear witness that our master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the true and merciful servant of Allah. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, upon his family and friends, and upon the Companions who do good and good deeds in the word.

O servants of Allah, fear Allah. Know this, may Allah include you among the successful people, that the fulfillment of worship and closeness is for man to guard his tongue. Sayyidna Mu'adh bin Jabal (RA) says: I was with the Prophet (PBUH) on a journey. One day I approached him in the morning, and we were walking. I said: Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him! Tell me a deed that will make me enter Paradise and keep me away from Hell. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You have asked a great thing, and surely this deed is easy for one who May Allah make it easy for you, worship Allah, do not associate anything with Him, establish prayer, pay Zakat, fast in Ramadan and perform Hajj to the House of Allah". Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you the gates of goodness?" Fasting is a shield, charity erases sins like water extinguishes fire, and a man's prayer (Tahjud) in the middle of the night." Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to this verse: He recited "تتجافى جنوبهم عن المضاجع" (Surah Al-Sajdah: 16) until he reached:

Then he said: "What Should I not tell you the origin of religion, its pillar and its peak? It is Jihad in the way of Allah", then he said: "Should I not tell you what all these things depend on?" I submitted: , then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took hold of his blessed tongue and said: “Keep it under your control.” I said: Prophet of Allah! Will we be caught on what we say? He said: "Mu'az! Your mother wept over you! People will be thrown into hell blindly because of the works of their tongues.

So, good people, when you speak, remember that Allah listens to you and knows what is going on in your heart. He says in Surah An-Nisa:

And Allâh is Ever All¬Hearer, All¬Knower.

Surah An Nisa – 148-Part

And control yourself by forgiving people's mistakes. There is no recompense for it except the forgiveness of your sins by Allah Ta'ala. He said in Surah An-Nisa:

Whether you (mankind) disclose (by good words of thanks) a good deed (done to you in the form of a favour by someone), or conceal it, or pardon an evil, … verily, Allâh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, All-Powerful. (149)

Surah An Nisa – 149

And remember, may Allah protect you, that the believers are brothers among themselves, as the Lord Dhul-Jalal has explained to him in the book, so do not take off the brotherhood with something that causes discord, because Allah Almighty says in Surah Al-Hujarat:

The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islâmic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allâh, that you may receive mercy.

Surah Al Hujraat – 10

So people of Allah, fear Allah - and remember that one day there will be a return to Allah, so weigh your words and actions. He said in Surah Al-Baqarah:

And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allâh. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.

Surah Al Baqara – 281

Surah Al Ahzaab – 56
