An insight into the importance of the Ritual of Hajj Al-Mabrur, Individually and Socially

Hajj to the Sacred House of ALLAH - meaning visiting the Sacred House of ALLAH to practice types of ritual actions and religious rites that Islam has enjoined and mandated as a strict obligation, and it is one of the pillars of Islam, as ALLAH Almighty said:

(...And for God is the duty of the people to perform the Hajj to the House, whoever can find a way to it...) Al Imran : (97);

Prophet Muhammad (may ALLAH’s prayers and peace be upon him, said):

“Islam is built on five things: testifying that there is no god but ALLAH and that Muhammad (PBUH) is the Messenger of ALLAH, establishing prayer, paying zakat, performing Hajj to the House if you are able to make a way to it, and fasting Ramadan...” Al-Bukhari, Book of Faith, No.: “8”; Sahih Muslim, Book of Faith, No.: “16”;

Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) also said,“… ALLAH has imposed Hajj on you, so perform Hajj...” Sahih Al-Bukhari, No.: “7288”; Sahih Muslim, No.: “1337”,

Hajj, i.e. visiting the Sacred House as a ritual, is considered one of the remnants of the prophecy of Hazrat Abraham (AS, peace be upon him), which the Arabs in pre-Islamic times performed tinged with heresies and many pagan taints, arising from the long period they lived without a prophecy guiding them to the true religion, to the point that they were described by both Jews and Christians as illiterate.

They do not know of prophecy, and therefore do not have the book and message of a prophet; Indeed, they are ignorant of that, and do not see that they need a divine message with which ALLAH sends a prophet to guide them, knowing that the Jews and Christians are not in a better condition than them, for everyone is equal in misguidance and blindness to the true religion, as they are all polytheists and worship idols that they believe will bring them closer to ALLAH and save them from sins...

By sending Hazrat Muhammad (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace), with Islam, the true religion that ALLAH Almighty has pleased with all mankind, in order to bring them out of darkness into light, with His permission, and guide them to His straight path. The wisdom of ALLAH Almighty required that the Islam with which ALLAH sent Muhammad (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace), be the guide to the true religion, as ALLAH sent Ayah on the day of the greatest Hajj: “...This day those who disbelieved have despaired of your religion, so do not fear them, but fear this day. I have perfected for you your religion and completed My blessings and approval upon you Take Islam as your religion...) Al-Ma’idah: (3),

So, the ritual of Hajj, with its conditions, pillars, and legal etiquette - that is, the accepted Hajj - that is pure for the sake of the Almighty, in which there is no hypocrisy or reputation, and in which it adheres to what God Almighty has imposed, and the Sunnah of the Messenger of God and the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace) the mercy given to the world, is one of the best acts of worship after faith. And jihad for the sake of ALLAH, as prophet (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace) said, when he was asked, “Which deeds are better?” He said, “Belief in ALLAH.” It was said, “Then what?” He said, “Jihad for the sake of ALLAH,” and then what? He said, “An accepted Hajj.” Sahih Al-Bukhari, No.: “1519”; Sahih Muslim No.: “83”; Sunan al-Tirmidhi, No.: “1658”,

This is because of the features and meanings of Hajj that are truly true to ALLAH Almighty, such as singling Him out, Glory be to Him, for servitude pure from any taint of polytheism, and embodying the oneness of ALLAH in practice, and submitting to His commands and avoiding His prohibitions, as this appears in the intention of Hajj with the ihram, which symbolizes removing the garment of disobedience and wearing the garment of piety in compliance with ALLAH. Almighty, and follow that by saying: “At Your command, O ALLAH, a pilgrimage in which there is no hypocrisy or reputation.” Sunan al-Tirmidhi, No.: “2890”; Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, No.: “16053”; And his saying: “O ALLAH, you have no partner, you have no partner. Indeed, praise, grace, and dominion are yours, you have no partner.” Sahih Al-Bukhari, No.: “1475”; Sahih Muslim, No.: “1218”,

And repeating this until he begins to say “Allahu Akbar.”

Hence, the reward for an accepted Hajj that is pleasing to ALLAH Almighty is forgiveness and Paradise, as Prophet (may ALLAH’s prayers and peace be upon him) said: “The accepted Hajj has no reward except Paradise.” Al-Bukhari, No.: “1773”; Sahih Muslim, No.: “1349”;

He, Prophet (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace) said: “The one who fights in the path of ALLAH, the pilgrim, and the Umrah pilgrim, a delegation of ALLAH Almighty, called them and they answered him, and they asked him and he gave them.” Ibn Hibban, No.: “4613”; Ibn Majah, No.: “2893”; Al-Tabarani, Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabir, vol. 12, p. 422,

All three participate in migrating for the sake of ALLAH Almighty, and in the balance of ALLAH Almighty are actions based on intentions - that is, acts of worship - as he, the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him), said: “Actions are based on intentions, but each person has but what he intended. So whoever’s migration is for the sake of ALLAH and His Messenger, his migration is for ALLAH and His Messenger, and whoever’s migration is for the sake of this world.” He afflicts her or a woman he marries, so his migration is for what he migrated to.” Sahih Al-Bukhari, No.: “54”; Sahih Muslim, No.: “1907”

 Therefore, it is necessary to understand the meanings of the accepted Hajj in order to represent those meanings individually and collectively, and to achieve its fruits and purposes, so that the sayings of Omar, Ibn Omar, Al-Qadi Shuraih, and others, may ALLAH be pleased with them:

 “The arrivals are many, or the group is many, and the pilgrims are few, when they saw what the pilgrims had done.” Ibn Rajab, Lata’if al-Ma’arif, p. “236,66”;

And the speaker said: “I did not perform Hajj, but I performed Hajj on a caravan. Not everyone who performs Hajj to the House of ALLAH is justified.

The most prominent of these features of the Hajj Mabroor is the symbolism of linking the nation of Muhammad (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace), to the religion of Hazrat Abraham (peace be upon him) whom ALLAH Almighty has made a role model for Muslims in adhering to Islam and calling for its imitation in life, and in his pilgrimage to the infidels and polytheists with conclusive arguments, since polytheism and atheism were common during his reign.

At the individual level, the societal level, and the level of the state that protects atheism, polytheism, and polytheists, and ALLAH Almighty said about it: (Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but was an upright Muslim, and he was not of the polytheists) Al Imran: (67),

Hence His saying, Glory be to Him, regarding Muhammad (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace) and the believers with him: (Indeed, the people closest to Abraham are those who followed him, and this is the Prophet and those who believe, and God is the Guardian of the Believers) Al Imran: (68),

This includes a reminder of the features of pure faith in Islam as a doctrine, law, and way of life, and the truth of true and pure loyalty to ALLAH, His Messenger (PBUH), and the believers, as he was a role model in calling for faith in ALLAH, Islam for Him, and worshiping Him truly, and disbelief in tyrants, and how to confront disbelief, atheism, and polytheism in all its forms, just as It is made clear in His saying, Glory be to Him: (And when Abraham said to his father and his people, “Indeed, I am disavowed from what you worship, except Him who created me That they may return.) Al-Zukhruf: (26-28).

Accordingly, Abraham (peace be upon him), was an imam for the believers in fulfilling the requirements of true faith, according to the Almighty’s saying: (And whoever turns away from the religion of Abraham except he who fools himself. We have chosen him in this world, but in the Hereafter he will not be of the righteous, when his Lord said to him, “Submit.” He said, “I submit to the Lord of the Worlds.” And he enjoined it upon Abraham. His sons and Jacob, O my sons, ALLAH has chosen for you the religion, so do not die unless you have submitted.) Al-Baqarah: (130-132);

And ALLAH Almighty said: (And who is better in religion than he who submits his face to ALLAH and is a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham upright, and ALLAH took Abraham as a friend) An-Nisa: (125);

And ALLAH Almighty said: (Then We inspired you to follow the religion of Abraham, upright, and he was not of the polytheists.) An-Nahl: (123);

And ALLAH Almighty said: “There has been a good example for you in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, ‘We are free from you and from what you worship besides ALLAH. We disbelieve And enmity and hatred will appear between us and you forever until you believe in ALLAH alone...) Al-Mumtahina: (4).

In all of this, Prophet (peace be upon him) was a living embodiment of the Almighty’s saying: (And your ALLAH is one; there is no god but He, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful) Al-Baqarah: (163), and he represented the truth of ALLAH’s oneness in creation and command, and in turning to his Lord, Glory be to Him, and his disavowal of polytheism and its people, and then the call of a people e to believe in ALLAH Almighty alone, without partners, and to work to bring his people to true Islam, in line with the call of all the prophets:

(And We did not send before you any messenger but to him was revealed that there is no god but Me, so worship Me.) The Prophets: (25),

and His saying Glory be to Him: “ And We have certainly sent to every nation a Messenger, saying, “Worship ALLAH and shun the tyrant.” And among them were those whom ALLAH guided, and among them were those upon whom misguidance was certain. So travel through the earth and see what was the end of the deniers.” An-Nahl: (36).

Voluntarily, therefore, the accepted Hajj is not a formal practice of rites and rituals performed in religious tourism, but rather it is a pure migration to ALLAH Almighty, conducive to refining and purifying souls, elevating aspirations, and uplifting individual feelings, in addition to preparing the Muslim nation and preparing it spiritually, intellectually, educationally, politically, economically, and militarily to become the best nation.

It was brought out to the people, so it assumes its responsibility in conveying the true message of Islam on the authority of its Messenger, and in establishing evidence against the nations and bearing witness against them, in response to Prophet’s guidance (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace, in his sermon in Arafat, in which he recommended to the people all the principles of Islam.

And what is necessary for the salvation of believers and others from the misery and misery of life, and what is necessary in building the nation, and saving it and the entire world from the factors of deterioration, corruption, disintegration and dissolution, which lead to a lack of security and stability, and everything that causes misery and misery.

It stated the necessity of equality between human beings, the sanctity of blood, wealth, and honour, consolidating the correct faith and its requirements, and getting rid of all manifestations of polytheism, and among the matters of pre-Islamic times, both ancient and modern, represented by the ties and standards that were dictated by whims, sects, and beliefs that were not permitted to them by ALLAH.

Such as nationalist, sectarian, regional, liberal, freedom and democracy tendencies, women’s liberation, ethnic and sectarian fanaticism, and other pre-Islamic stubbornness, warning against usury, advising women to be good, explaining what is theirs and what they are owed, and the necessity of adhering to the Book of ALLAH and the Sunnah of His Messenger (PBUH).

In conclusion, the Prophet (may ALLAH’s prayers and peace be upon him), was keen on making people bear witness to the attainment of the true religion, and holding them responsible for adhering to Islam and carrying the call to it without distortion, or falsification, in line with the Almighty’s saying:

(Say: “Which thing is greater than witness?” Say: “ALLAH is a witness between me and you, and He has been revealed to me.”) This is the Qur’an, that I may warn you And whoever it conveys, “Indeed, you should bear witness that with ALLAH there are other gods.” Say, “I do not bear witness.” Say, “Indeed, He is only one ALLAH, and I am disassociated from what you associate with Him.” (Al-An’am: (19)

The Prophet (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him), said at the end of what he recommended: “O ALLAH, have I conveyed it? O ALLAH, bear witness. Let the witness convey it to those absent, for perhaps the listener is more aware than the conveyer, so do not return to infidels after me by striking the necks of one another...” Sahih Al-Bukhari, Chapter on Hajj; Sahih Muslim, No.: “1218”; Sunan Abi Dawud, No.: “1905”; Ibn Majah, No.: “3074”; Sunan Ad-Darimi, No.: “1850”,

Other than that are among the commandments that the Prophet (may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace), recommended to Muslims, so that these commandments would be a beacon by which Muslims in particular, and all people, would be enlightened in their peace and war, and they would take them as a basis for them in their religious and worldly affairs in issues of faith, values, and morals, family affairs, and building society, and in Governance, economics, community relations, transactions and systems.

Everything that is required by true Islam, and what is in it for the good of this world and the hereafter, individually and socially, and what would preserve the rights of individuals and groups and achieve for them, through its embodiment and adherence to it, complete security, a good life, and happiness in this world and success on the Day of Resurrection.

In line with the Glorious Quran (... you made the watering of the Hajj and the mosque of the mosque, the unjust people who believed and migrated and strive in the path of ALLAH with their money and their souls (19-20);

And the Almighty said: (Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east and the west, but righteousness is he who believes in ALLAH and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture The Prophets, and out of his love he gave money to relatives, orphans, the needy, the wayfarer, the beggars, and for freeing slaves, and he established prayer, and he paid zakat, and he made money with his goods When they make a covenant, they are patient in times of adversity, adversity, and times of hardship. Those who speak the truth - those are the righteous.) Al-Baqarah: (177)

ALLAH Almighty has spoken the truth.
