ZHANG Shuxian and JIA Yifan showed convincing performance at the Swiss Open. They overcame strong opponents such as representatives from Taiwan, Indonesia and China to win the championship. The final match lasted 94 minutes, and ZHANG Shuxian and his teammates defeated LIU Sheng Shu / TAN Ning with a score of 2–1 (21–19, 14–21, 21–17).
At the All England, ZHANG Shuxian had an impressive performance, defeating pairs from Scotland, Korea and China. However, in the semi-finals, she and JIA Yifan lost to the veteran Japanese pair — Yuki FUKUSHIMA and Mayu MATSUMOTO — 16–21, 17–21.
