Zahran Mamdani's Victory Setback for POTUS Trump

Zahran Mamdani won the mayoral election in New York City, the largest city in the United States, held on November 4th. He became the first mayor of America's most important city to belong to the progressive social democratic movement within the Democratic Party, the main rival of the ruling Republican Party. His victory was by a wide margin over his closest competitor.

Mamdani is a 34-year-old American rapper and a graduate of the College of Arts. His father is of Indian descent, from a family that outwardly professes Islam, but in reality belongs to the Nizari Ismaili sect, which is not recognized by any of the major Islamic schools of thought as part of the Muslim community. His father, Mahmoud Mamdani, is a well-known university lecturer in the United States, while his mother is a Hindu filmmaker. Secular values ​​prevail in his family, and religion has no significant influence on their social relationships.

 Zahran Mamdani is a staunch advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, including those related to homosexuality and transgenderism. He personally raised tens of millions of dollars through groups affiliated with his faction within the Democratic Party to support LGBTQ+ individuals, under the guise of promoting equal rights for all segments of society.

Mammdani easily defeated all his rivals in the election, despite a $22 million campaign funded by several billionaires for his main opponent. Trump's numerous threats against his candidacy also failed to halt his political rise.

This victory marked the first political defeat for Republican candidates since Trump's rise to the presidency and represents the first real setback for Trump's policies, which had dominated the American political landscape during his first year in office. The primary reason for Mamdani's victory was not his being Muslim, an immigrant, or even a social democrat. Rather, the real reason was the broad support he received from the Democratic Party, a support that united all its factions. Mamdani was, in fact, an official member of the Democratic Party, albeit belonging to the left-wing socialist wing, the weaker wing of the party.

His campaign platform, which championed the poor and supported public institutions, was one of the most important factors in his victory in a society deeply weary of the greedy capitalists in New York City. These capitalists had impoverished the population, plundered public funds, and privatized everything in the nation's economic capital for their own benefit and to further amass their wealth. Mamdani called for free healthcare for all, support for public education, and free transportation for all kindergarten students. He also advocated freezing housing prices, raising workers' wages, preventing the deportation of immigrants, improving public services, and taxing only the wealthy. He cited the Scandinavian model and the welfare state as examples of his electoral program and called for granting workers greater power in managing the state's economic facilities.

This program promoted by Mamdani is nothing more than a version of capitalist socialism that has no relation to Marxist socialism, nor to the communism that Trump falsely accuses him of. He wants a return to capitalism tinged with some workers' benefits, introducing some socialist patches into a capitalist system that has reached an appalling level of tyranny in America and is now controlled by a small handful of wealthy individuals who control all aspects of the world's largest economy.

 Politically, Mamdani, like other leaders of the social democratic movement, opposes AIPAC, the American Zionist lobby, and supports granting rights to Palestinians. He considers the Zionist entity part of the American capitalist lobby system, allied with large corporate lobbies that support the occupation army's aggressive practices in Gaza and the Middle East in general. Hatred for the Zionist entity's criminal practices has intensified, especially after it was accused of genocide in Gaza.

His statements against the Zionist entity's actions resonated with the American public, already angered by the Netanyahu government's brutal practices. The electoral base in New York saw him as the ideal candidate to fulfill their aspirations of rejecting opportunistic American politicians aligned with AIPAC, which has become one of the most hated lobbies in America. These are the main reasons for Mamdani's victory as mayor of New York. The pent-up anger of the poor against the corrupt lobbies mingled with the tangible economic needs of the city's residents. They found their answer in Mamdani's economic and political program, which swept the votes and triumphed over the political money spent by the corrupt lobbies to buy influence.

Mammdani's victory marked a turning point in American politics. The wealthy were dealt a severe blow by their defeat in the New York elections, despite their experience, wealth, and lobbying power. The voice of the youth, the poor, and the marginalized prevailed. This seemingly minor shift in the political landscape of this great city foreshadows a radical transformation in American politics. The cards will be reshuffled, the rules of the game will change, and young people, liberated from the grip of corporations and stock markets, will begin to assert their political will over the established figures and aging elites of American politics. The principle of replacement will take hold, casting its shadow over an antiquated system that will gradually change, becoming more responsive to the genuine needs of the people and no longer beholden to the whims of the privileged elite.

This transformation will have a positive impact on Muslims and all the oppressed peoples of the world. The grip of American and Western imperialism on the world will gradually weaken, international conflict will intensify, new global powers will emerge, and America will be deprived of its monopoly on international politics.

فوز ممداني عمدة لنيويورك أول انتكاسة لسياسات ترامب

فاز زُهران ممداني في انتخابات عمادة مدينة نيويورك كبرى المدن الأمريكية التي أجريت في الرابع من تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر فأصبح أوّل عمدة لأهم مدينة أمريكية ينتمي للتيار الاشتراكي الديمقراطي التقدّمي المنضوي داخل الحزب الديمقراطي المنافس الرئيسي للحزب الجمهوري الحاكم، وكان فوزه بفارق كبير على أقرب منافسيه.

وممداني هو خريج كلية الآداب ومغني راب أمريكي في الرابعة والثلاثين من عمره، وينتمي لأب من أصول هندية من أسرة تنسب إلى الإسلام ظاهرياً، لكنّها في الواقع تنتمي إلى الفرقة الإسماعيلية النزارية التي لا تعترف بها أي من المذاهب الإسلامية المعروفة كجزء من الأمّة الإسلامية، وأبوه محمود ممداني يعمل محاضرا جامعيا معروفا في الجامعات الأمريكية، بينما أمّه مخرجة هندوسية الديانة، وتغلب على أسرته هيمنة المفاهيم العلمانية، وعدم وجود أي تأثير للدين في علاقاتهم الاجتماعية.

ويعتبر زهران ممداني داعما قويا لمنح حقوق الشواذ جنسيا وما يتصل بهم من مثلية وتحول جنسي، وقد قام شخصياً بجمع عشرات الملايين من الدولارات عبر مجموعات تنتمي لتياره في الحزب الديمقراطي لصالح أولئك الشواذ بحجة تبني فكرة المساواة في الحقوق لجميع الفئات المجتمعية.

وتغلّب ممداني على جميع منافسيه في الانتخابات بسهولة بالرغم من تمويل بقيمة 22 مليون دولار قدّمها عدد من كبار المليارديرات لمنافسه الرئيسي، وكذلك لم تؤثّر تهديدات ترامب الكثيرة التي أطلقها ضد ترشحه في وقف صعوده السياسي.

لقد اعتبر هذا الفوز أول هزيمه سياسية لمرشحي الحزب الجمهوري منذ وصول ترامب للرئاسة، ويمثل أول انتكاسة حقيقية لسياسات ترامب التي اكتسحت المشهد السياسي الأمريكي في السنة الأولى من حكمه.

ولم يكن السبب الرئيسي في فوز ممداني كونه (مسلماً) أو مهاجراً ولا حتى كونه اشتراكياً ديمقراطياً، بل كان السبب الحقيقي في فوزه هو دعم الحزب الديمقراطي العريض له، وتوحده بكل تياراته في ذلك الدعم، فممداني هو أصلاً عضو رسمي في الحزب الديمقراطي، وإن كان ينتمي للتيار الاشتراكي اليساري، الجناح الأضعف في الحزب.

وكان برنامجه الانتخابي المناصر للفقراء والمؤيد لدعم المؤسّسات العامّة هو أحد أهم أسباب فوزه في مجتمع بلغ السأم فيه مبلغاً كبيراً من حيتان الرأسماليين الجشعين في مدينة نيويورك، وهم الذين أفقروا السكان، ونهبوا أموالهم العامة، وخصخصوا كل شيء في العاصمة الاقتصادية للبلاد لصالحهم، ولزيادة تكدّس ثرواتهم.

ودعا ممداني إلى جعل الرعاية الصحية مجّانية للجميع ودعم التعليم الحكومي، وجعل المواصلات مجانية لجميع طلاب المراحل التمهيدية، كما دعا إلى تجميد أسعار المساكن، ورفع أجور العمال، ومنع ترحيل المُهاجرين، وتحسين المرافق العامة، وأخذ ضرائب من الأغنياء فقط، واعتبر النموذج الإسكندنافي واقتصاد الرفاه مثالاً لبرنامجه الانتخابي، ودعا إلى منح صلاحيات أكبر للعمّال في إدارة المرافق الاقتصادية للدولة.

وهذا البرنامج الذي روّج له ممداني ما هو سوى نسخة من الاشتراكية الرأسمالية التي لا علاقة لها بالاشتراكية الماركسية، ولا بالشيوعية التي يتهمه ترامب بها كذباً، فهو يريد العودة إلى الرأسمالية المطعّمة ببعض الامتيازات العمّالية، فقام بإدخال بعض الترقيعات الاشتراكية على النظام الرأسمالي الذي بلغ في أمريكا حداً فظيعاً من التغوّل، وبات يخضع لسيطرة حفنة قليلة من الأثرياء تتحكّم بجميع مفاصل أكبر اقتصاد في العالم.

وأمّا من ناحية سياسية فممداني كغيره من زعماء التيار الاشتراكي الديمقراطي يعادي الآيباك، وهو اللوبي الأمريكي الصهيوني، ويدعم منح حقوق للفلسطينيين، ويعتبر كيان يهود جزءاً من منظومة اللوبي الرأسمالي الأمريكي المتحالف مع لوبيات الشركات الكبيرة التي تدعم ممارسات جيش الاحتلال العدوانية في غزة والشرق الأوسط عموماً، وزادت كراهية ممارسات كيان يهود الإجرامية لا سيما بعد لصوق تهمة الإبادة الجماعية في غزة به.

ولاقت تصريحاته ضد تصرفات كيان يهود هذه هوىً في الشارع الأمريكي الغاضب أصلاً من ممارسات حكومة نتنياهو الوحشية، فوجدت القاعدة الانتخابية في نيويورك فيه الشخص المناسب الذي يلبي لها طموحها في نبذ السياسيين الأمريكيين الانتهازيين المنحازين لمنظمة آيباك التي باتت من أكثر اللوبيات المكروهة في أمريكا.

فهذه هي أهم أسباب فوز ممداني كعمدة لنيويورك حيث اختلطت فيها مشاعر الغضب الكامنة في صدور الفقراء من اللوبيات البغيضة مع الحاجات الاقتصادية الملموسة التي يستشعرها سكان المدينة، ووجدوا في برنامج ممداني الاقتصادي والسياسي ضالتهم ومبتغاهم، فاكتسح الأصوات، وتفوق على المال السياسي الذي تنفقه اللوبيات البغيضة في شراء الذمم.

لقد مثّل فوز ممداني نقطة تحوّل في السياسة الأمريكية، حيث صدم أصحاب الأموال صدمة عنيفة بفشلهم في انتخابات نيويورك بالرغم من خبراتهم وثرواتهم ولوبياتهم، وانتصر صوت الشباب والفقراء والمسحوقين.

وهذا التغير البسيط في المُعادلة في هذه المدينة الكبيرة يحمل في طياته في المستقبل تغيراً راديكالياً كبيراً في السياسة الأمريكية، حيث تختلط الأوراق وتتغير أصول اللعبة، ويبدأ الشباب المنعتق من سطوة الشركات والبورصات بفرض إرادته السياسية على دهاقنة السياسة الأمريكية و(عواجيزها)، وحيث تجري قاعدة الاستبدال فتلقي بظلالها على نظام عتيق فيتغيّر تدريجياً، ويصبح أكثر قرباً من حاجات الناس الحقيقية، ولا يبقى مرتهناً على تلبية حاجات النخب المترفة.

وسينعكس هذا التغيّر في المستقبل على المسلمين وعلى جميع المستضعفين في العالم إيجابياً، فتتقلص القبضة الاستعمارية الأمريكية والغربية على العالم بشكل تدريجي، وتزداد حدة الصراع الدولي، وتبرز قوى دولية جديدة، وتحرم أمريكا من احتكار السياسة الدولية.
