Will USA collapse like Rome?
The Roman Empire rose to power through relentless military expansion, incorporating vast territories like Italy, Sicily, and North Africa through strategic warfare and alliances. Its rise was also fueled by political innovation and flexibility, including a powerful Senate and the eventual transition from a Republic to an Empire under Augustus. Economic growth, control of vital trade routes, and strong engineering skills built wealth and infrastructure, while a strong civic identity and the ability to integrate conquered peoples into their social and political systems also contributed significantly to their dominance.
"Rome wasn't built in a day" is a proverb that means great achievements require time, patience, and continuous effort. It's an adage reminding us that important and worthwhile things don't happen overnight, but are the result of sustained work and persistence over a long period. The phrase is thought to have originated from a medieval French saying, highlighting the centuries of hard work and energy needed to build the Roman Empire. The Pax Romana took about a thousand years to convert from a republic to a kingdom.
The Roman Empire didn't fall suddenly but declined over centuries, culminating in the Western Roman Empire's collapse in 476 AD when the last emperor was deposed. Its downfall was due to a complex mix of factors including: an oversized and poorly managed empire, political instability and corrupt leadership, invasions by Germanic tribes, economic decline from inflation and over-taxation, internal factors like mercenary armies and a decline in population, and the rise of Christianity. The Roman Empire lasted for over 1,400 years.
USA was also not made a great power in a day. The U.S. rose to global power through a combination of geographic advantages, abundant natural resources, a rapidly growing population fueled by immigration, and a booming industrial economy. The nation's ability to participate and benefit from the two World Wars, while its rivals were devastated, solidified its position as a superpower. This transition from isolation to global dominance occurred roughly between the late 19th century and the end of World War II, culminating in its role as the sole superpower after the Cold War. USA rose to Super power status in about 200 years and became a lone super power in fifty years time.
Michael Thomas Flynn (born 24 December 1958) is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who served as the 24th US national security advisor to 45th POTUS. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1981, and was commissioned a second lieutenant in U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps. He thinks that USA is " Just a Presidency away" from fall similar to fall of Roman Empire. He expressed his opinion on X.com as follows:-
The fall of Rome had qualities that are very similar to what America is experiencing today.
In fact, most great empires throughout history have many of the same conditions. But what happened to Rome is as close to what is happening to America as any other collapsed empire I’ve studied.
And just like many Americans, I'm certain many Romans knew things weren't right. However, like many Americans, most Romans likely accepted what was happening and moved on with their lives.
What were those causes of Rome's demise?
1. Open Borders
2. Corrupt politicians
3. Loss of common language
4. Social & political instability
5. Creation of a welfare state
6. Violent entertainment
7. Decline of morality
8. Decline in fertility rate
9. Rise in Pedophilia
10. Unchecked debauchery
11. Class warfare
12. Unbearable taxation
13. Outsourcing
14. Trade deficits
15. Exploding debt
16. Money devaluation
17. Military cuts & exhaustion
18. Terrorist attacks
The United States of America is unique, and we do have a completely different founding than Rome. However, if we don't face these similar challenges head on, like the greatness that once was Rome, America will find also itself in the dustbin of history. We’re not one generation away from losing our freedom, we’re one presidency.
Paul Kennedy in his book "The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers" concluded that great powers decline due to a phenomenon; he called "imperial overstretch". This happens when a state's military and strategic commitments expand beyond the economic resources available to sustain them. Kennedy's central thesis, which he supported with historical analysis from 1500 to 1980, explained the cyclical nature of great power dynamics. Kennedy argues that excessive military expenditure can detract from productive investment, ultimately weakening national power. The U.S. has faced this dilemma, since the fall of Berlin wall. USA assumed a status of Vampire and steam rolled into various region as a lone super power.
USA since 9/11 ventured into Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and various others on different pretext. The US out reach for regime change operations resulted in serious damage to US "American Dream" image, rolled since WW-I as a beacon of democracy, liberty and freedom. The bright minds of the world migrated to USA and contributed immensely for the love of freedom and personal independence provided at USA. However, since fall of Berlin wall, USA chose Islam and Muslims as enemy and that was a big wrong decision. It was against the very mantra of democracy, freedom and liberty. The constant bullying "with us or against us" has resulted in immigration with hate and malice towards USA (migration taking place due to conditions created by US actions).
The US failed to identify the greatest threat to its sovereignty and survival; i.e. the Zionist Jews, controlling the whole government structure of USA through AIPAC. The big skeleton in the cupboard cannot be hidden any more, because, the digital media advancement has taken the world to new horizon. Any attempt to subjugate the freedom of expression through digital media will only be counter productive efforts; because its common people voice and its stupid to silence that opinion. The Zionist Jews are preparing for Pax Judaica after Pax Americana.
USA became a land of opportunity and offered American dreams with freedom, liberty and democracy. It applied a lot of resources for regime change operations in various countries for the same values. In Afghanistan, it enforced democracy with the help of people who might have been Afghanis but had no stakes in the land and people of Afghanistan. Therefore, after two decades of forceful injection of American values and way of life, US forces had to flee from Afghanistan, leaving behind multitude of arsenal and valuable equipment. The misery of the US Vampire was that the human resource development and social engineering she conducted during two decades, vanished in thin air as soon as US forces airlifted from Bagram Air Base.
USA has been providing valuable $ foreign exchange to a lot many countries through NGOs; however, all such ventures only benefitted some sold out souls and only attracted hatred for USA in the common folks of the country. USA has been providing assistance in political awareness in many countries but on the same hand it also supported non political forces in those countries. How can bigotry, hypocrisy and double standards earn respect even if score of dollar bags spent for bargaining support?
Israel may have been a client state and watch dog forward post in the heart of Muslim World; for looking after US's interest in the region. But for how long, the pig be tolerated by Muslims amongst their ranks an files? The policy of appeasing few sheiks may not continue for ever, because, the Muslims make up 25% of world population and many bright minds have populated western hemisphere during last three decades. One can't fool all the people all the times and every thing has a limit. Its better to formulate policies on love, harmony and affection. If we haven't learnt is previously, its right time now.
Dear General Mike Flynn! USA is a great power and a wonderful country. It helped the world by providing right atmosphere and climate for scientific exploration with significant funding, top research institutions, and a strong innovation ecosystem. The United States has contributed to global progress and development through economic assistance, humanitarian aid, medical advancements, and by playing a major role in the creation of international institutions. However; it unnecessary attempted to halt natural progress of other regions like China; and infested its international affairs with hatred and malice (like India-Pakistan Crises).
USA can still be a great country all along next century; as she has all the attributes and positive indicators to continue to be a powerful friendly force in science and technology; research and development, literature and arts; commerce and trade and land of Peace with Freedom, Liberty and Democracy. The future of our world in peace will only be possible with strong democratic credentials and USA is no doubt a true leader in this range. US may not collapse like Rome, if she changes course as soon as possible.
