The frustration of frizz, dryness and the curls not being up to the mark is something we curly hair girlies have always experienced.

So here we are with a great routine and products which will help u get those defined and luscious curls – to show ur real shine!

Manetain products do not have sulfates, silicons, waxes and drying alcohol – the very things that destroy ur hair. So girl, let’s start this journey with a method called curly girl method

The following is a step-by-step guide to ensure that the journey into healthy, hydrated curls is easy, simple, and stress-free for the beginner. Let's begin!

Step I: The Reset Wash

Before you get moving on your new routine, you need to hit the reset button.

Repeated use of harsh products leaves a coating of silicones and other synthetic ingredients in the hair, which blocks moisture, making your hair dry.

What to do:

Wash your hair one final time with a sulfate-containing, silicone-free Manetain Clarifying Shampoo. This is often called a clarifying or "reset" wash.

Why

The sulfates are strong detergents that will effectively lift and wash away all the stubborn silicones and buildup.

Enjoy the nostalgia of the sulfates one last time. Once you have done your reset wash, you're officially ready to start the Curly Girl Method journey on a clean slate!

Step II: Co-washing

This step is perhaps the most drastic change for most beginners: you are replacing shampoo with conditioner. This term "Co-Washing" simply means Conditioner Washing. This method uses a lightweight, CGM-approved conditioner to gently cleanse your scalp without removing all of the natural, essential oils from it.

Product Choice

Manetain Co-wash is a light conditioner, silicone-free, and suitable for washing. Technique is everything; apply a generous amount directly to the scalp, not just on your lengths.

The Scrub

Use only your finger tips and not your nails. Vigorously massage and scrub your entire scalp for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Use your fingers like scrubbing brushes, lifting dirt and oil.

Rinsing

Continue massaging while rinsing your conditioner off thoroughly from the scalp. Now that your scalp is clean and your hair moisturized, move to the next step!

Step III: Conditioning & Detangling

Now, it's time to define your curl pattern with our very own Manetain Leave-in Conditioner!

Application

Generously apply an amount of CGM-approved Manetain Leave-in Conditioner over your curls, ensuring they are saturated following a Co-Wash.

Detangle Wet

NEVER detangle hair when dry. You put your fingers to work and work out the tangles, starting at the ends and working your way up toward the roots.

The "Squish to Condish" (S2C)

With hair that is detangled, you take small sections and gently squish the water and conditioner up toward the scalp. You'll hear a squelching sound—this is a good sign!

The Rinse

Rinse out about 80 to 90% of the conditioner. Leaving it in a little bit provides important moisture and frizz protection.

Now that the hair has been moisturized and detangled, let's set the definition in place with some styling products!

Step IV: Styling & Drying

This is the final step, which is all about locking in the moisture and definition you worked so hard for. Now, this is where you protect your curls from frizz while drying.

Apply to Soaking Wet Hair

On wet hair, while it's still dripping, apply Manetain Volume Gel for a volumizing burst of moisture or Manetain Hard Hold Gel, which has the strongest hold for long-lasting definition. Now, rake the product through your hair by gently scrunching the product upward toward your scalp. Use a generous amount-you want a protective cast.

Remove Excess Water

Using an old cotton T-shirt or a microfiber towel, gently plop or scrunch out excess water. Avoid using terrycloth towels because they create friction and frizz.

Drying

For best results, allow your hair to air dry. Alternatively, place a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer and set it to low heat/low speed. Do not touch your hair while it's drying!

Scrunch Out the Crunch

Finally, when your hair is 100% dry, curls may feel hard or even "crunchy." Use soft hands and a few drops of lightweight oil, scrunching your hair until the hardness goes away, leaving soft, defined curls.

Commitment is what it means to start the Curly Girl Method, and here is the honest-to-goodness truth: It's okay if it does not look perfect right away! Curls can feel limp, frizzy, even greasy-but that is totally normal! Keep consistency and let the magic begin!
