Sri Lanka vs India 2nd Test Match 2026
Sri Lanka and India will face each other in the second and final Test of the two-match Test series. The match will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground in Colombo from 23 to 27 August 2026. India are leading the series 1–0 after winning the first Test by 165 runs. As a result, India only needs a draw in the second Test to win the series, while Sri Lanka must win to level the series.
Team analysis
In the first Test, Devdutt Padikkal performed brilliantly with the bat for India, scoring 167 runs. Manav Suthar was the hero of the match with the ball. He took 10 wickets in two innings and kept the Sri Lankan batting lineup under pressure.
The biggest challenge for Sri Lanka in the second Test will be dealing with India’s powerful spin attack. Along with players like Prabath Jayasuriya and Dhananjaya de Silva, Kamindu Mendis will have to play a key role in the batting.
Match odds
India also has a lot of depth in their batting. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are capable of playing big innings. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj and Manav Suthar will strengthen India’s bowling attack.
The nature of the pitch could also become important as the match progresses at the SSC ground in Colombo. Spinners could gain an advantage towards the end of the match. So winning the toss and batting first could be crucial for both teams to score big.
