Song of the Ocean
Oceans comprise 71% of our Earth and it is the only "Blue Planet" in the milky way visible to our eyes. Life originated from water and we often connect the ocean to something greater. The ocean is a symbol of the infinite and the unknown, representing both creation and destruction. This write up "Song of the Ocean" is about the love of ocean as expressed poetically.
In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Song of the Ocean
The ocean formed billions of years ago and the primitive ocean were formed over vast periods of time. Water remained a gas until the Earth cooled below 212 degrees Fahrenheit . At that time, about 3.8 billion years ago, the water condensed into rain which filled the basins that we now know as our world ocean. Oceans comprise 71% of our Earth and it is the only "Blue Planet" in the milky way visible to our eyes.
We all know that water is colourless; however, the ocean is blue because water absorbs colors in the red part of the light spectrum. Like a filter, this leaves behind colors in the blue part of the light spectrum for us to see. The ocean may also take on green, red, or other hues as light bounces off of floating sediments and particles in the water.
Looking at the ocean activates opiate receptors in the brain, releasing dopamine and its rush of reward. Even when people are in a good mood, they still seek out the water. The thin line where blue meets blue holds the gaze a bit longer, allowing the mind to wander. Staring at the ocean actually changes our brain waves' frequency and puts us into a mild meditative state. To stay in the zone while you're at the beach, say goodbye to Instagram … for now. “The best way to exercise mindfulness is to close your eyes and listen to the ocean waves rolling in and out.”
Life originated from water and we often connect the ocean to something greater; source of life. We usually think of it as a figure that connects the world and crafts the future of human beings. The ocean is indeed a symbol of life and existence to some cultures and civilizations. The sound of the waves, the smell of the salt air, the blue hues and the vastness of the ocean can all have a calming effect for some people. Spending time in nature is known to lower levels of cortisol, a stress hormone. The person who loves and is magnetically attracted to the ocean and the sea is called a "thalassophile".
The ocean is a symbol of the infinite and the unknown, representing both creation and destruction. Rituals involving the oceans / sea, such as immersing idols during festivals, are believed to purify and renew spiritual energy. The ocean's vastness and depth are often used as metaphors for the divine and the eternal.
Humans are attracted to Water due to some "Natural Connection". Many people feel drawn to water. There's something about being near a lake, river, or the sea that makes us feel relaxed and happy. This feeling comes from a mix of our history as humans, the way water affects our senses, and how it helps our minds and bodies feel better. In the following, some poetic work / song is being shared to highlight the subject.
“The Ocean” – Led Zeppelin
"We've done four already but now we're steady
And then they went: One, two, three, four"
Singing in the sunshine, laughing in the rain
Hitting on the moonshine, rocking in the grain
Got no time to pack my bags, my foots outside the door
I got a date, I can't be late, for the high hopes hailla ball, uh uh, uh uh, yeah
Singing to an ocean, I can hear the ocean's roar
Play for free, I play for me and play a whole lot more, more!
Singing about the good things and the sun that lights the day
I used to sing on the mountains, has the ocean lost its way
I don't know, oh oh, yeah'
Ooh, yeah
Sitting round singing songs 'til the night turns into day
Used to sing about the mountains but the mountains washed away
Now I'm singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart
She is only three years old and it's a real fine way to start
Oh yeah!
It sure is fine!
Ah blow my mind!
When the tears are goin' down!
Yeah! Yeah, yeah
Oh so, oh so, oh so good!
Oh so good!
Ocean By Mary Oliver
I am in love with Ocean
lifting her thousands of white hats
in the chop of the storm,
or lying smooth and blue, the
loveliest bed in the world.
In the personal life, there is
always grief more than enough,
a heart-load for each of us
on the dusty road. I suppose
there is a reason for this, so I will be
patient, acquiescent. But I will live
nowhere except here, by Ocean, trusting
equally in all the blast and welcome
of her sorrowless, salt self.
Song of the Endless Ocean From FB Page "Indigenous Rhythm Circle"
I am the daughter of the waters,
my spirit untied,
my breath woven with the wind of waves.
No chain can hold me,
for the ocean is my cradle,
the dolphins my companions,
the currents my song.
I drift with no border,
no map, no boundary—
only the horizon,
endless and shining,
calling my name.
The sea opens its arms,
and I, a child of freedom,
dance in its vast embrace.
Here, in the blue without end,
I am whole,
I am wild,
I am free.
