The third largest emirate of the UAE is Sharjah. It is the most family-friendly destination in UAE to experience museums, desert safari, and beaches in Sharjah. It connects 16 museums across it covering the range of Islamic art, Science, Heritage, Culture, and archaeology of the region. Sharjah museum authority an autonomous body was inaugurated in 2006. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi laid the foundation of this authority to oversee all museums across Sharjah. The museums that are under the patronage of authority are the following:
• Al Eslah School Museum is one of the places which seek attraction of tourists from all around the globe. • Al Mahatta Museum is particularly famous for the protection and care of the passengers of airways. • Bait Al Naboodah is known as an old heritage site of UAE. • Sharjah Archaeology Museum is the very first museum of Sharjah. • Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is the hallmark of Islamic Civilization in UAE. • Sharjah Science Museum is famous for the purpose of innovation and creativity. • Sharjah Fort (al hisn) is famous for the coral and rocky fortification in the center of Sharjah • Hisn khor fakkan is known to attract marine life enthusiastic • Bait Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad al Qasimi is particularly famous for the Emirates of Kalba.
Museum tour in Sharjah is offered in two languages only Arabic or English. However, for the other languages, audio guides are preferably used.
Several facilities are offered at the museum for the convenience of the visitors. These are a room for praying, a free parking area for free, a wheelchair facility baby changing facility, a resting room, and an internet facility offered to visitors.
It was inaugurated in 2008 to disclose Islamic culture, civilization, and values, moreover 5,000 artifacts from the Islamic world. The artifacts include calligraphy, metallic work, scientific innovations, manuscripts, and ceramics. Islamic Civilization Museum is located near the Majarrah Waterfront which is the heart of Sharjah.

There are seven spacious galleries and a huge displaying area for art manifestation in the Islamic Museum of Civilization. The ground-floor area of the museum contains the achievements of Arab astronomers and scientists. The upper floor is about exhibition of Islamic art and craft. Every part of the museum catches the attention of the tourist.
The Abu Bakr Gallery of Islamic Faith has defined the five pillars of Islam and explains the foundation and teachings of Islam. From the different parts of the world Quranic manuscripts, Islamic history pictures, and architecture have been collected for the visitors.
• In The Ibn Al-Haytham Gallery of Science and Technology the achievements and discoveries of the Muslim Scholars have been presented for the visitors. For a better understanding of Islamic history three-dimensional models, and information panel charts have been used to explain the discoveries of scientists in the fields of physics, chemistry, mathematics, geography, and medicine.
Islamic Art Gallery 1 has displayed a vast range of artwork including metallic work, woodcarving, and various manuscripts. History has a blend of various civilizations stretching from the Arabian Peninsula to the west and to the east with the rise of religious values of Islam.
• In Islamic Art Gallery 2 the work that is displayed dates back to 7-13th centuries AH. The objects depict the display of Ottoman and Mughal civilizations. This time period is remembered as a time of great economic growth flourishing of art, exchange of culture and values among communities.
• Islamic Art Galleries 3-4 displays the Islamic art and craft used between the 13th and 14th centuries AH. There was a wave of competition between the Westerners and locals about the production and offering of goods in the market. Tourists were getting more attracted to locally manufactured products. Islamic coins are displayed outside the gallery to make the visitors aware of the emergence and evolution of coins.
In Al Majarrah Exhibition Gallery an exhibition holds twice a year from all across the world.
Sharjah Science Museum is an attractive museum from a scientific point of view to study scientific innovation and discoveries.
