Last year Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. This attack has been considered a major attack on European countries since World War II. Thousands of causalities have occurred on both sides. Many of the Ukrainian soldiers have been tortured by the Russian forces. Massive displacement accounts for 8 million have taken place since the invasion within the country. Almost 8.2 million have fled the country. The repercussion of war includes environmental damage, causalities, and food crises worldwide.
Ukraine became an independent country after the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991. The country was trying to extend its ties with the European Union and NATO (A western military alliance) after that a surge was seen between Russia and Ukraine.
