Our Solar Calendar year comprises 12 months, four seasons, 52 weeks and 365 days. The year ends on 31st December and starts on 1st January (both differ with a second). Each year, the world celebrates Happy New Year as soon as the bell rings midnight of 31 December. The Urdu poetry is rich in expressions about the human feelings about the New Year and the 1st month of the year, which incidentally falls as cold winter in most part of the world.
