The 4th T20I match between New Zealand National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team was held at Sky Stadium, where South Africa emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter and proved their strong performance.
Batting first, South Africa posted a challenging total of 164/5 in 20 overs. The key player in the team’s batting was Connor Esterhuizen, who laid the foundation for the innings with a 36-ball 57. Tony de Zorzi (23), Dian Forrester (19) and, last but not least, George Linde (14*) made important contributions. Despite losing wickets regularly, the team managed to maintain a good run rate of 8.2 runs per over.
In reply, New Zealand started well but failed to put up a big partnership. Tim Robinson (32) and Dane Cleaver (26) put up some resistance but the South African bowlers kept up the pressure. Gerald Coetzee bowled brilliantly taking 3 wickets (31 runs), while Prenelan Subrayen and Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets each to keep the match in control in the middle overs.
In the end, New Zealand were all out for 145 in 18.5 overs and lost by 19 runs. South Africa’s batting and bowling were equally strong, which played a big role in their victory. Overall, it was a great team performance, where patience under pressure helped South Africa advance in the series.
