La Liga TV Rights: Real Madrid Tops Barcelona with €157 Million

Real Madrid has narrowly outpaced Barcelona to claim the highest share of La Liga TV Rights for the 2024–25 season, according to the league’s official club-by-club distribution report. This season, La Liga and Liga 2 clubs will divide a total of €1.43 billion in La Liga TV Rights revenue. By comparison, France’s Ligue 1, with 18 clubs, is set to receive only €80.5 million in broadcasting income. Under the latest distribution, Real Madrid will receive €157 million from La Liga TV Rights, just ahead of Barcelona, which earns €156 million. Atlético Madrid follows with €108 million. The structure of La Liga TV Rights payouts is as follows: 50% of the total revenue is shared equally among the 20 top-flight clubs. 25% is tied to club performance over the past five seasons. 25% is based on factors like subscriber numbers, matchday ticket sales, and television audiences. Looking ahead, La Liga revenues are expected to increase further under the league’s €1 billion broadcasting deal with Movistar+ and DAZN, ensuring continued growth for the Spanish league’s leading clubs.
