This writ up is to seek a solution to this old rivalry between two neighbours with the help of a story "The Giant Who Feared the Ant".
India Pakistan War: The Giant Who Feared the Ant
India and Pakistan came into being in 1947 after partition of British India and the two countries are in conflict since then. One constant irritant created since very beginning is Kashmir. The two countries have flexed their muscles many times on the borders and through proxies. The conflict has turned dangerous due to the nuclearization of both countries. Any misadventure from any of the two may result in monumental disaster for the world.
Kashmir is the unfinished agenda of Partition Plan of 1947 and India is continually negating the right of self determination to the people of Kashmir. In August 2019, the Indian government moved to revoke Article 370 of the Indian constitution. The change removed Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, signifying aggressive approach of the Modi government to integrate Kashmir into India through a doctrine of Hindu nationalism. The Hindutva Brigade is an extremist terror group; unfortunately promoted to power with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister by fueling Hindu Nationalistic fever.
India is the largest country by population and have huge resources at its disposal as compared to its arch rival Pakistan. India is approximately six times bigger a country than Pakistan vis a vis population and maintains even greater military, financial and diplomatic international clout with the increasing proportion. India Pakistan relevance is same as David and goliath or a giant versus a common man.
The Indian government diplomatic approach and attitude towards Pakistan has always been a rude and aggressive. It has always been like a bull in a china shop. The Pahalgam terror attack on 22nd April 2025 triggered a loud response from Indian Hindutva Brigade led PM who suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and promised retribution. The Indian Godi Media (biased Indian print and TV news media) reflects the dire mental backwardness of the Giant. This media is continually feeding the hate towards Pakistan and even its own Muslim population. (Just check the godi media reflection before, during and after a cricket match between India and Pakistan).
India has truly become a Giant who has lost balance and any semblance of sanity due to the hegemonic designs of becoming a regional power with Blue Water Navy having control over Indian ocean as its own back yard lake. Such ambitions are fueled by other powers of the world for their financial and menial gains in the region. Therefore, there is a need to check the giant and make it learn few life long lessons. Let's follow a story “The Giant Who Feared the Ant” to drive a lesson for dealing unruly giant called India.
Data in the following is from the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)
“The Giant Who Feared the Ant”
In a vast land of fire and stone lived a terrible giant named Buro, who crushed villages for sport.
He mocked the small.
He feared nothing—except one thing: ants.
“They crawl into ears and hearts,” he growled.
When Buro threatened the peaceful village of Umulu, the people had no warriors. They depended on a virtue called "wisdom". Yes, only wisdom is the right way of dealing any unruly giant.
At night, the children placed trails of honey leading to Buro's cave, and soon came the ants—thousands strong.
They followed the scent to Buro’s cave.
They climbed his feet. His legs. His ears.
He screamed and fled, tumbling into the valley. Never to be seen again.
The ants? They returned, carrying small seeds for the village’s farms.
Lesson Learnt:
"Even the smallest among us can bring down the mighty when united in purpose" and employing "wisdom" and not power to deal with an unruly giant. Therefore. lets scratch our head and find some wisdom to deal with unruly giant India wisely.
Pakistan is a small country with lesser resources and diplomatic clout. However, the India is a big country and sometimes, strength can be a weakness.
India is very attractive station for foreign investment due to many reasons and those attractions can be corrosive.
There must be weaknesses and many fault lines through out the length and breadth of its land mass and population, which Pakistan can exploit "wisely"; so that the unruly giant may learn to live in peace with its neighbours.
