Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has addressed his exclusion from India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Australia, asserting that his fitness and form are not in question. Speaking ahead of Bengal’s opening fixture in the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, Shami emphasized that his participation in four-day domestic cricket demonstrates his readiness to contribute at the international level, including 50-over cricket. Shami, 35, last represented India during the 2025 Champions Trophy in March. Since then, the national team has toured England for Tests, competed in the Asia Cup T20Is, and secured a 2–0 Test series sweep against West Indies.
