How Sender Verification Works

TrueSender shields you from these attacks by verifying the sender and alerting you to phishing links with embedded AI.

Companies in India must register their SMS sender IDs with the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) and the telephony operators before sending transactional or bulk SMS messages. Registration entails:

• The official name of the sending party
• The registered address of the business
• Service area and service provider (circle/state)
• The purpose of message sending

TrueSender is linked to this authenticated directory to retrieve and show these details for registered sender IDs. Hence, when you get a message from a sender such as "VM-HDFCBK", TrueSender assists you in recognizing that it is from HDFC Bank, which is working via Vodafone in Maharashtra, and registered to send bank-related OTPs.

This level of openness allows you to:

• Determine whether a message is really from a known business
• Recognize the source of the message without breaking sender codes
• Identify rogue or unregistered senders who may be trying to impersonate legitimate businesses

Especially useful when handling money messages, delivery status, or any SMS asking you to do something.
