Glastonbury is an old town (parish), in Mendip district, administrative and historic county of Somerset, southwestern England. It is situated on the slopes of a group of hills that rise from the valley of the River Brue to a tor (hill) reaching 518 feet (158 metres) above sea level on the southeastern side of town. In Glastonbury, history, myth and legend combine in such a way that most visitors cannot fail to feel the “vibes” and powerful atmosphere of the town. For not only is Glastonbury the cradle of Christianity in England but is also reputed to be the burial place of King Arthur.

The festival was created in 1970 as a place for people to come together and rejoice music. The festival is unique in itself because Glastonbury does not last for more than 3 days in an year. It is a 'city' made up of tents. The area, where the festival is held every year, is nothing but a vast country grassland which is rented by the owner of the land. The tents are pulled out after the festival. Glastonbury's magic comes not only from Mother Earth but also from the people who have performed rituals there for thousands of years. Every time a priestess lights a candle and whispers her intention, she leaves her magical imprint on the attendees. Each year, Glastonbury Festival attracts around 200,000 attendees, and each of them adds to the staggering atmosphere at the festival. (this year 2025; the priestess message was too hot and the whisper was like a thunder).

British police officers are also examining comments by the Irish rap trio Kneecap, whose members have also been highly critical of Israel and its military assault on Gaza.
