Geometry Dash: Overview

The premise is deceptively simple: you control a geometric icon that moves automatically. Your only control is to tap (or click) to jump or fly to avoid obstacles like spikes and walls.

• One-Touch Gameplay: The entire game is played with a single input (mouse click, screen tap, or keyboard spacebar).
• Permadeath: If you crash into an obstacle, you restart the level from the very beginning (0%). There are no checkpoints in "Normal Mode."
• Practice Mode: Players can place checkpoints (green gems) to practice difficult sections without restarting the whole level.

The game keeps things fresh by changing the player's form through "portals." Each form has unique physics:

• Cube: The default form. Tap to jump.
• Ship: Hold to fly up, release to fall down.
• Ball: Tap to switch gravity (move from floor to ceiling).
• UFO: Tap to do a small mid-air jump (like Flappy Bird).
• Wave: Hold to move diagonally up, release to move diagonally down (often considered the hardest mode at high speeds).
• Robot: Hold to jump higher (variable jump height).
• Spider: Tap to instantly teleport to the ceiling or floor.
• Swing (New in 2.2): Tapping changes the direction of gravity in mid-air.

Music is the heart of Geometry Dash. The gameplay is synchronized to the beat of the soundtrack.

• Genre: Mostly Techno, Dubstep, and EDM.
• Key Artists: Waterflame, F-777, DJVI, and MDK.
• Visuals: The background pulses and colors shift in time with the music drops.

While the game comes with 22 official levels (ranging from Stereo Madness to Dash), the game's longevity comes from its Level Editor.

• User-Generated Content: Players can build their own levels using the game's assets. There are over 100 million user-created levels online.
• The Demon Rating: User levels are rated by difficulty. The hardest levels are classified as Demons, which have their own hierarchy:
• Easy Demon
• Medium Demon
• Hard Demon
• Insane Demon
• Extreme Demon (The absolute hardest levels, often requiring thousands of attempts).
• The Demon List: The community maintains a ranking of the top hardest levels in the world (such as Avernus, Acheron, or Tidal Wave).
