Brief of the SNAP Test Pattern

The SNAP exam is a computer-based test. According to the SNAP exam pattern, there are 60 minutes with 60 MCQ type questions. Students need to complete the exam in this much time only. The exam has 3 sections, namely General English, which consists of 15 questions; Quantitative and Data Interpretation, which consists of 20 questions; and Analytical Reasoning, which consists of 25 questions. 

The marking scheme of the exam is as follows:

• 1 mark is given for every correct answer.
• 1/4 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Difficulty Level of SNAP Exam 

The SNAP exam is considered moderate in difficulty level. It is considered less difficult than other entrance exams like CAT or XAT. Students just have to make sure that they are following the time limit. This becomes the tough part of the exam. The students have only 60 minutes to solve 60 MCQ type questions. • No sectional time limits 

Students feel relieved about this aspect of the SNAP exam. There is no fixed time limit for any section of the SNAP exam. Students have to complete all 60 questions asked within the given time. Students can move between sections, as there is no rigidity there also. 

• Best of three attempts 

This is another point of relief for the students. When the SNAP exam is conducted annually, there is the option that students have to give up to three attempts. In a particular exam window, students can attempt the SNAP exam three times. The best score out of these three attempts will be considered final for the SNAP exam. This final score will determine which colleges students will get admission to. 

• Negative marking

The negative marking for incorrect answers shows that there is a high need for students to be accurate when giving the answers. Students cannot just select any option they think is right. There has to be some logic put in from the students' side. Otherwise ,there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Therefore, students should accurately try and solve each question of the SNAP exam.
