Can Honourable Friendship on Mutual Respect be Begged?
If one wants to have friend, shall not beg for it. The relationship is honest and sincere when both parties care about each other. It is true for international affairs as well. Genuine respect for nations are built on a foundation of each country internal strength and ways and means they employ for managing their national affairs. This write up is a brief opinion on latest developments about Pakistan in USA and UNO.
Can Honourable Friendship on Mutual Respect be Begged?
The current World Order is based on the outcome of World War-II and Nation Pakistan got independence right after the WW-II in 1947; however, The ruling elite of Pakistan has failed to comprehend the genesis of Nation Sate and principles of National Honour & Dignity.
The New World Order was set into rolling after establishment of UNO and the key principles as we say these days "the buzz words" were rule of law, democracy, human rights, science & technology and free market capitalist approach. The country Pakistan Ruling elite kept experimenting on their on wisdom which was slaved and myopic and resultantly the country lost all respect and became a laughing stock in world affairs. The climax reached when the chief executive of the country said " Beggar's are not Chooser" and " We are surviving on ventilators." That was from abyss.
The palace or the circus:
A regime change operation was conducted in 2022 and palatial intrigues entrenched in the body politics were employed in such a funny manner that clichés " when a clown enters a palace, he doesn't become the king but the palace turns into circus" became true. But the international affairs are not a funny matter, which may be handled in a comical way. Therefore, the managers of regime change got exposed and became uncomfortable by clownish ways and means and that too in brutal manner. ( A clown may be allowed to crack jokes and play tricks but beating the audience for not laughing and appreciating may not be pardoned).
Friends Not Masters:
Once a power has been accepted as master than the subject one can never attain mutual respect with the same power by begging or polishing the master's ego. It doesn't happen with individuals nor in international affairs. Therefore following was bound to happen when few in the beaten audiences could awake the masters' conscience or expose masters' hypocrisy. (who will like to a king but treated as clown?)
1. US Congress passed " Resolution seeking probe into Pak elections."
The US House of Representatives passed a bipartisan resolution on Wednesday (26 June 2024), in support of democracy and human rights in Pakistan and called for a "thorough and independent investigation" into interference claims in Pakistan's 2024 elections. The resolution -- passed with 98 percent voting in its favour -- urged US President Joe Biden to collaborate with Pakistan in “upholding democracy, human rights, and the rule of law”.
2. Geneva-based UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention says Khan's imprisonment violates international law and demands 'immediate' release.
In an opinion issued on Monday (01 July 2024), the Geneva-based UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention said the “appropriate remedy would be to release Mr. Khan immediately and accord him an enforceable right to compensation and other reparations, in accordance with international law”. “[The] working group concludes that his detention had no legal basis and appears to have been intended to disqualify him from running for political office. Thus, from the outset, that prosecution was not grounded in law and was reportedly instrumentalised for a political purpose.”
The surrender of National honour and dignity rolled on with murder of first Prime Minister in 1951. Then it was polished by first CMLA Gen Ayub Khan later President also. He wrote a book titled " Friends Not Masters". He started dictating the book in 1964, well before 65 War & Bhutto's revolt. He felt the heat well before celebrating 10 years rule and couldn't amend, because, he didn't had the capacity. The problem almost every man at top faces in set conditions in country Pakistan. The problem is so deep rooted that it infests almost all men reaching the top positions in the country in all organizations and institutions.
When will the Ruling Elite of Pakistan learn about World Order that was shaped from 1800 AD onwards by colonist and concept of Nation State after WW-I and principles of National Honour & Dignity enforced since ages?
