Bill Gates was born in Washington, in 1955. His father’s name was William Henry Gates II. His father in addition to founding the Seattle King County and Washington State Bar organizations also served as president of Shidler McBroom & Gates, a business that later became K&L Gates. and his mother’s name was Mary Maxwell who served for 18 years as a regent on the board of the University of Washington, in addition to serving on the boards of other significant organizations, such as the First Interstate Bank, Unigard Security Insurance Group, and Pacific Northwest Bell. Bill Gates married Malinda French in 1994 and had 3 children. He showed an early interest in computer programming, and by the age of 13, he had written a version of tic-tac-toe for the General Electric computer system. In 1973, Gates enrolled at Harvard University, where he studied computer science and mathematics, but he dropped out after two years to start Microsoft with Allen.
