Bashundhara Kings lose 2-3 to Al Seeb in AFC Challenge League
Bangladeshi club Bashundhara Kings did not start well in the group stage of the AFC Challenge League. In the first match held in Kuwait, Topu Barman's team lost 2-3 against Omani club Al Seeb. Although Oman was ahead in all aspects of the ranking and football structure, the Kings were not behind in the fight on the field. In fact, the team took the lead in the second half with a great goal from Rakib Hossain, but in the end they had to concede due to a defensive error.
Both teams were playing aggressively from the start of the match. Al Seeb took the lead in the seventh minute through a goal by Al Rawani, taking advantage of a defensive error by Kings. After conceding a goal, Bashundhara had to wait until the 42nd minute to equalize, despite creating several chances. The team's Brazilian midfielder Rafael Augusto coolly received the ball in the box and put it into the net. The Omani footballers appealed for offside, but the goal was valid. As a result, the first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, Rakib Hossain put Kings ahead with a brilliant individual performance. His corner shot from outside the box was too close for the opposing goalkeeper to handle. Kings were dreaming of winning with this goal, but just seven minutes later, Al Seeb came back into the match due to a defensive lapse. The opposing forward easily controlled the ball coming in from the left and scored, where defender Taj Uddin failed to mark it properly.

In the 77th minute, another defensive blunder broke the Kings' defense. Saad Uddin and the other defenders failed to clear a cross from the right. Al Maqbali took advantage of that opportunity to control the ball and send it into the net, ensuring Al Seeb's victory.
Bashundhara Kings, disappointed to lose points despite being ahead in the fight, will now have to turn things around in the next match.
