The Political Implications of Trump's Speech at the 80th Session of the United Nations

The speech delivered by US President Trump at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, which lasted 57 minutes, was a powerful, influential, and worrying speech, as it signaled an aggressive American isolation. Trump claimed that the US was shirking its responsibility toward the world and charging the countries of the world with shouldering their responsibilities in confronting their crises. He also charged the countries of the world with the costs of maintaining their security and stability and confronting their crises. Although some considered the speech strange and outside the usual political context in such a setting, it nevertheless captured the attention of world leaders and political analysts and received widespread attention across various media platforms. 

The speech addressed important political issues related to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the position on Iran, climate change, and immigration, in addition to its exposure of the Democrats' rivalry. What is striking is that he opened his speech by discussing the technical problem of the electrical ladder being cut off, and the “These are the two things I received from the United Nations: a broken escalator and a broken teleprompter,” he said, praising his wife, Milana’s agility, saying, “If she wasn’t in excellent shape, she would have fallen, but she’s in great shape. We were in good shape.” 

Trump did not do this out of frivolity or clowning, but rather because he intended to consider this an intentional act of sabotage, as he stated on social media that he was demanding from the United Nations regarding the triple sabotage that he was subjected to, which were: “a broken escalator, a teleprompter that he was reading from, and problems related to poor sound quality,” describing it as deliberate acts, and “had we not been holding the handrails tightly, otherwise it would have been a disaster.” 

According to the speech’s diverse, exciting, and disturbing political topics, with their global repercussions, the speech was, in what it touched upon, a show of America’s vision of the world, in light of what it plans to establish the rules of a new international system in which the dominant state would dominate. Complete control; so that no country in the world deviates from its will and control. It alone is concerned with shaping the countries of the world geographically, intellectually, and politically. Countries become subservient to it, like slaves to their masters, such as the colonial spheres of influence in the Middle East and North Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and the African continent. Other countries orbit around it, are allies of it, and fall under its umbrella, such as the major industrialized nations. This is supported by what he said in his speech:

1:- He came to the United Nations General Assembly today to extend the hand of American leadership and friendship to any country that wishes to join it in building a safer and more prosperous world. However, to achieve this, we must reject the failed methods of the past and work together to confront the greatest threats in history, including nuclear weapons.

2:- Based on this, his explicit call to get rid of the international institutions that were established after World War II came when the international situation was based on multilateralism, and the five major countries had a role in shaping it intellectually, politically and geographically, a formation that takes into account the interests of those countries, each according to its strength and influence. This is supported by what was stated in Trump’s speech, of sarcasm and mockery of the United Nations and the international institutions affiliated with the United Nations, where he said: “Two things the United Nations gave me were: a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter,” referring to the technical glitch… The organization’s spokesman emphasized that “this most likely happened due to the activation of a safety mechanism by a member of the American delegation, and that the teleprompter is the responsibility of the White House team, not the United Nations…” 

Trump continued his criticism of the United Nations, saying: “What is the point of the organization—the United Nations—noting that it has enormous capabilities that do not live up to those capabilities, and that all it does is issue strongly worded messages with little follow-up, repeating that empty words do not end wars… The United Nations did not contribute to making…” Peace, and he reiterated that he had personally ended seven wars, instead of the United Nations—and that this made him worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize—and that the organization had not even attempted to assist in any of them…” He pointed to America’s review in his era of its membership in hundreds of international governmental organizations to determine whether they were aligned with the priorities of America’s agenda or not, which he translated in his current speech as America alone in the political, economic, and military arenas.

3: - Emphasizing before “150” heads of state or government in the United Nations General Assembly the necessity of American exclusivity in international position and global hegemony, and his rejection of the idea of ​​multipolarity in managing the world and controlling international affairs in peace and war, where he said: “Global crises are best addressed when influential men like him come together to conclude an agreement, not through multilateral institutions, such as the United Nations, to formulate collective solutions…” His focus on defending America and the nation-state and exposing Europe and China in this context came, emphasizing that America is worthy of exclusivity in international positioning with its power, where he said: “America has the strongest economy, the strongest army, and the strongest borders…” And the strongest friendships, and the strongest spirit, among all nations, and that growth is increasing, industry is flourishing, and the stock and bond markets are in excellent condition.

4: - In his repeated display of American power, his affirmation of the slogan "America First," and his threat that America will not pay the bill for protecting the world without compensation, this is merely an attempt to pressure Europe and NATO by reducing American military and financial commitments except to the extent that they serve American interests. Therefore, in this context, he criticized Europe for its policies due to opening its borders to immigration, considering immigration a threat to the Jewish and Christian heritage on the continent... He also criticized it for its investments in renewable energy, stressing that talk about climate change is the biggest deception perpetrated against the world... He also criticized it for its war decisions and for trading with China and Russia, saying clearly in the context of his attack on multilateralism and globalization: "Your countries are heading towards collapse... and for European countries to be effective, they must join us in adopting exactly the same measures."  

5:- Trump's speech reveals that America has a tendency to liquidate the Palestinian issue in accordance with its political vision of the world within the context of the global order it seeks to establish, in contrast to the usual failed methods of the past, and the emphasis on American unipolarity in global governance. This is evident in his statement: "Israel committed genocide in the Palestinian territories..." as well as Trump's rejection of the annexation of the West Bank to Israel. His discussion of the Iranian issue and the Middle East is indicative of this, especially in light of the escalation of the war in Gaza. 

This tone with which Trump addressed world leaders, and these political implications that emerge from his speech, indicate America's exploitation of the United Nations to serve its political strategy at home and in its foreign policy globally. This was evident in Trump's current theatrical speech before the General Assembly, in which Trump repeatedly glorified America, highlighted its political, economic, and military strength, and the global respect it enjoys, which enables it to hold a unique international position. He rejected multipolarity, and stated that it would not tolerate the world exploiting it. He emphasized unipolarity.  

The existing polarization that America still represents, as it is the one that has the unique international position without competition since the eighties of the last century until today, and that Europe is under control, and cannot escape from the American cloak, and is at its mercy in exchange for American security guarantees, in the face of what threatens it from Russia and China, and in the face of the economic crises that it is exposed to, and as for China and Russia, they are contained by it, and its media escalation in confronting them is a kind of taking that as a scarecrow for Europe and America’s traditional allies to blackmail them financially in exchange for American security guarantees, and keeping them under the American cloak, and walking in the American political, security and military orbit, and the duty of the nation and its elites in this regard is not to surrender to the colonial religious, intellectual, legal and political programs dictated by America and its allies, and the major criminals among its agents and lackeys; but rather to consolidate the determination to confront those colonial programs and agendas, and to bear the responsibility of working seriously, consciously and sincerely.  

To resume its Islamic life in a true Islamic state, which restores the nation’s independence and glory, and fulfills its Islamic mission project to be the best nation with its faith and steadfastness in the command of Allah, and with its lofty ideals and sublime values ​​by which it carries out its global Islamic civilizational role in bearing witness to people with the truth. 

Only in this way will America’s arrogance and unjust domination on earth be curbed, and Muslims and the world will be liberated from the slavish dependence on America and its allies, and the corruption and repercussions of international and regional colonial tools will be eliminated… In line with the words of Allah the Almighty: 

“Those to whom the people said, ‘The people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But it only increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.’ So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them, and they pursued the approval of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty. That is only Satan that frightens his allies, so do not fear them but fear Me, if you are believers.” (Al Imran: 173-175).

الدلالات السياسية لخطاب ترامب في اجتماع الدورة الثمانين للأمم المتحدة

الخطاب الذي ألقاه الرئيس الأمريكي ترامب في اجتماع الأمم المتحدة يوم الثلاثاء بتاريخ٢٠٢٥/٩/٢٣م، والذي استغرق"٥٧"دقيقة كان خطابا قويا مؤثراً مثيرا ًللقلق،بما ينبئ عنه من عزلة أمريكية هجومية، بحجة تنصل أمريكا من مسؤوليتها تجاه العالم،وتكليف دول العالم بتحمل مسؤوليتها في مواجهة أزماتها،وعليها أن تدفع لأمريكا تكاليف المحافظة على أمنها واستقرارها ومواجهة أزماتها،وإن كان عند البعض خطابا مستغربا خارجا عن السياق السياسي المألوف في مثل هذا الموقع،ومع ذلك فقد استرعى اهتمام قادة العالم والمحلّلين السياسيّين، ولاقى تفاعلا على المنصات الإعلامية المتنوعة،لما تضمنه الخطاب من أمور سياسية مهمة تتعلق بحرب أوكرانيا وغزة،وما يتعلق بالموقف من إيران،وقضية المناخ والهجرة،إلى جانب التعريض بخصومة الديمقراطيين،واللّافت للنظر افتتاحه لخطابه بالحديث عن مشكلة توقف السلم الكهربائي الفنية،والجهاز الذي كان يقرء منه بقوله:"هذان هما الشيئان اللذات تلقيتهما من الأمم المتحدة،سلّم متحرك معطّل وجهاز تلقين معطل"،ممتدحا رشاقة زوجته ميلانا بقوله:"لو لم تكن في لياقة ممتازة لسقطت،لكنها في حالة رائعة،كنا في حالة جيدة"وليس ذلك من ترامب من قبيل الهزل والتهريج،وإنما لكونه تقصد لغاية في نفسه عدّ ذلك عملا تخريبيا مقصوداً،حيث أنه صرح على مواقع التواصل الإجتماعي بمطالبة الأمم المتحدة بشأن التخريب الثلاثي الذي تعرض له ،والتي هي:"عطل السلم المتحرك،وجهاز التلقين الذي كان يقرء منه،ومشاكل تتعلق برداءة الصوت، "واصفا ذلك بأنها أعمال متعمدة،ولولا أنّنا كنّا نمسك بالدرابزين بإحكام وإلا لكانت كارثة، وبحسب ما تضمنه الخطاب من مواضيع سياسية متنوعة ومثيرة ومقلقة،بما لها من تداعيات عالمية،فقد كان الخطاب فيما تطرق إليه استعراضيّاً لبيان رؤية أمريكا للعالم،في ضوء ما تخطط له من إرساء قواعد نظام دولي جديد تكون فيه الدولة المهيمنة هيمنة تامة،بحيث لا تخرج دولة في العالم عن طوعها وإرادتها، فهي وحدها المعنية بتشكيل دول العالم جغرافيا وفكريا وسياسيا،لتصبح الدول بين تابع لها تبعية العبد لسيده، كمناطق النفوذ الإستعماري من دول الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا وفي شبه القارة الهندية،وفي جنوب شرق آسيا والقارة الإفريقية،وبين دول دائرة في فلكها أو حليفة لها ومنضوية تحت عباءتها كالدول الصناعية الكبرى،ويتأيد ذلك بما قاله في خطابه:

١:-إنه حضر إلى الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة اليوم ليمد يد القيادة والصداقة الأمريكية لأي دولة ترغب في الإنضمام إليها في بناء عالم أكثر أمانا وازدهارا،ولكن لتحقيق ذلك يجب علينا رفض أساليب الماضي الفاشلة والعمل معا لمواجهة أعظم التهديدات في التاريخ بما في ذلك الأسلحة النووية.

٢:-وبناء على ذلك جاءت دعوته الصريحة للتخلص من المؤسسات الدولية التي أقيمت عقب الحرب العالمية الثانية يوم كان الموقف الدولي قائما على التعددية،وكان للدول الخمس الكبرى دوراً في تشكيله فكريا وسياسيا وجغرافيا،تشكيلاً تراعى فيه مصالح تلك الدول كلاًّ بحسب قوته ونفوذه،ويتأيد ذلك بما جاء في خطاب ترامب،من التهكم والسخرية من الأمم المتحدة والمؤسسات الدولية التابعة للأمم المتحدة حيث قال:"شيئان قدمتهما الأمم المتحدة لي هما:"سلم كهربائي سيئ،وشاشة تلقين سيئة مشيرا بذلك للخلل الفني…"الذي شدد الناطق باسم المنظمة؛ "أن ذلك حصل على الأرجح بسبب تشغيل آلية أمان من قبل أحد أعضاء الوفد الأمريكي،وأن شاشة التلقين من اختصاص فريق البيت الأبيض وليس الأمم المتحدة…"،وأمضى ترامب القول في انتقاد الأمم المتحدة قائلا:"ما جدوي المنظمة-الأمم المتحدة-مشيراً إلى أنها تملك إمكانات هائلة لا ترقى إلى مستوى تلك الإمكانات،وإن كل ما تفعله لا يتعدى إصدار رسائل شديدة اللهجة بلا متابعة تذكر،مكرراً إن الكلمات الجوفاء لا تنهي الحروب…فالأمم المتحدة لم تساهم في صنع السلام،وقد كرر بأنه أنهى بنفسه سبع حروب،بديلا عن الأمم المتحدة -وأن ذلك يجعله جديراً بجائزة نوبل للسلام-،وأن المنظمة لم تحاول حتى المساعدة في أيٍّ منها…"،مشيراً إلى مراجعة أمريكا في عصره لعضويتها في مئات المنظمات الحكومية الدولية بهدف ما إذا كانت تتماشى مع أولويات أجندة أمريكا أو لا والتي ترجمها في خطابه الراهن أمريكا وحدها في المسرح السياسي والإقتصادي والعسكري.

٣:-التأكيد أمام"١٥٠"رئيس دولة أو حكومة في الجمعية العمومية للأمم المتحدة على ضرورة التفرد الأمريكي بالموقف الدولي والهيمنة العالمية،ورفضه لفكرة القطبية المتعددة في إدارة العالم،والتحكم في الشؤون الدولية في السلم والحرب،حيث قال:"الأزمات العالمية تعالج على النحو الأمثل حين يجتمع رجال لهم نفوذ أمثاله لإبرام إتفاق لا عبر مؤسسات متعددة الأطراف المنظمة الأممية لصياغة حلول جماعيّة…"،وجاء تركيزه في الدفاع عن أمريكا والدولة الوطنية والتعريض بأوروبا والصين في هذا السياق، مؤكدا على أن أمريكا هي الجديرة بالتفرد بالموقف الدولي بما تملكه من قوة حيث قال:"تتمتع أمريكا بأقوى اقتصاد وأقوى جيش وأقوى حدود… وأقوى صداقات،وأقوى روح،من بين جميع الأمم،وأن النمو يزداد والصناعة تزدهر وسوق الأسهم والسندات في أحسن حالته".

٤:-في تكريره لاستعراض قوة أمريكا وتثبيت شعار أمريكا أولا والتهديد بأن أمريكا لن تدفع فاتورة حماية العالم بلا مقابل،إنما هو من قبيل الضغط على أوروبا والحلف الأطلسي،بتقليص الإلتزامات العسكرية والمالية الأمريكية إلا في حدود خدمة المصالح الأمريكية،لذلك في هذا السياق انتقد أوروبا في سياساتها بسبب فتح حدودها أمام الهجرة،معتبرا أن الهجرة تهديدا للتراث اليهودي والمسيحي في القارة…،وكذلك انتقدها في استثماراتها في الطاقة المتجددة،مؤكدا على أن الكلام حول تغيير المناخ أكبر خدعة ارتكبت بحق العالم…،وكذلك انتقدها في قرارات الحرب،وفي المتاجرة مع الصين وروسيا،قائلا بوضوح في سياق تهجمه على التعددية والعولمة :"دولكم تتجه نحو الإنهيار…،وكي تكون الدول الأوروبية فعّالة عليها الإنضمام إلينا في تبني نفس الإجراءات تماما".

٥:-يظهر في خطاب تراب أن لدى أمريكا توجه لتصفية القضية الفلسطينية وفق رؤيتها السياسية للعالم في سياقات النظام العالمي التي تسعى لإرسائه،بغير الأساليب الماضية المعهودة الفاشلة،والتأكيد على الأحادية القطبية الأمريكية في إدارة العالم،ويتضح ذلك بقوله:إن إسرائيل ارتكبت إبادة جماعية في الأراضي الفلسطينية…،وكذلك رفض ترامب لضم الضفة إلى إسرائيل" وحديثه عن الملف الإيراني والشرق الأوسط ينم عن ذلك خاصة في ظل التصعيد للحرب في غزة.

هذه اللهجة التي خاطب بها ترامب زعماء العالم،وهذه الدلالات السياسة التي تستشف من خطابه،إنما تنبئ عن توظيف أمريكا الأمم المتحدة لخدمة استراتيجيتها السياسية في الداخل الأمريكي وفي سياستها الخارجية عالميا،وذلك ما كان واضحا في خطاب ترامب الإستعراضي الراهن أمام الجمعية العامة،الذي كرر فيه ترامب تمجيد أمريكا،وإبراز قوتها السياسية والإقتصادية والعسكرية،وما تتمتع به من احترام عالمي يمكنها من تفردها بالموقف الدولي،وعدم قبولها بالتعددية القطبية،وأنها لن تتسامح مع استغلال العالم لها،والتأكيد على الأحادية القطبية القائمة التي ما زالت أمريكا تمثلها،باعتبارها هي المتفردة بالموقف الدولي بدون منافس منذ ثمانينيات القرن المنصرم وإلى يومنا هذا،وأن أوروبا تحت السيطرة، ولا يتأتى لها الخروج من العباءة الأمريكية،وهي تحت رحمتها مقابل الضمانات الأمنية الأمريكية،في مواجهة ما يتهددها من روسيا والصين،وفي مواجهة الأزمات الإقتصادية التي تتعرض لها،وأما الصين وروسيا فهما محتويتان من قبلها،وتصعيدها الإعلامي في مواجهتهما هو من قبيل اتخاذ ذلك فزاعة لأوروبا والحلفاء التقليديين لأمريكا لابتزازهم ماليا مقابل الضمانات الأمنية الأمريكية،والإبقاء عليهم منضوين تحت العباءة الأمريكية،وسائرين في الفلك السياسي والأمني والعسكري الأمريكي،والواجب على الأمة ونخبها حيال ذلك أن لا تستسلم للبرامج الدينية والفكرية والقانونية والسياسية الإستعمارية،التي تمليها أمريكا وحلفائها،وأكابر المجرمين من العملاء أدواتها وأذنابها؛وإنما توطيد العزم على التصدي لمواجهة تلك البرامج والأجندات الإستعمارية،وتحمل المسؤولية في العمل بجدية ووعي وإخلاص على استئناف حياتها الإسلامية في دولة إسلامية حقيقية،تعيد للأمة استقلاليتها ومجدها،والوفاء بمشروعها الرسالي الإسلامي لتكون خير أمة بإيمانها واستقامتها على أمر الله،وبمثلها العليا وقيمها الرفيعة التي بمقتضاها تقوم بدورها الحضاري الإسلامي العالمي في الشهادة على الناس بالحق،وبذلك وحده يتم الحد من غطرسة أمريكا واستكبارها في الأرض بغير حق،وبذلك يتحرر المسلمون والعالم من التبعية الإستعبادية لأمريكا وحلفائها،ويتم التخلص من مفاسد وتداعيات الأدوات الإستعمارية الدولية والإقليمية…اتساقا مع قوله سبحانه:"الذين قال لهم الناس إن الناس قد جمعوا لكم فاخشوهم فزادهم إيمانا وقالوا حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل،فانقلبوا بنعمة من الله وفضل لم يمسسهم سوء،واتبعوا رضوان الله والله ذو فضل عظيم،إنما ذلكم الشيطن يخوف أولياءه،فلا تخافوهم وخافون إن كنتم مؤمنين"آل عمران:(١٧٣-١٧٥). صدق الله العظيم.
