Surah Al Baqara – 261-262

Surah Taha – 25-28

All praises are to Almighty ALLAH, the Exalted, who bestows bountiful rewards on the benevolent and the righteous and promises gardens and cool shades in the hereafter for those who obey Him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, He ordained Zakat for purification of the rich and satisfaction for the poor. I bear witness that our master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is the servant of God and His Messenger. Most generous in giving. May peace and blessings be upon him, upon his family, companions, and followers until the Day of Resurrection. Translation of the recited verse:

The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allâh, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allâh gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower (261) Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of Allâh, and do not follow up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, their reward is with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

Surah Al Baqara – 261-262

O people of Allah, be righteous and obey Allah, fear Allah as He should be feared and be thankful for His blessings and comforts. In Surat al-Talaq there is a divine statement:

And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). (2) And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed, Allâh has set a measure for all things.

Surah At Talaq – 2-Part-3

O believers, know that the true believers are those who value time and hasten to do good deeds, then their courage and determination help them to excel in good deeds. So, you see that Muslims are in a race to do various kinds of beneficial work. Among those who bow and prostrate are the sincere ones who guide to righteousness. And another person whom you see looking into people's faces, seeking out the poor and the needy, the widows and the fatherless. To wipe away the tears of the afflicted, he takes the hand of the weak and the needy, and gives in their hands that which Allah, the Beneficent, has enjoined upon him from his wealth, which purifies the soul and the wealth.

Paying Zakat to the deserving is a purification of the giver's soul and wealth, and it is a shower of mercy from the sky and an outflow of blessings from the earth. This duty makes the hearts of the powerful, sympathetic towards the weak and awakens the conscience of the rich to make them aware of the plight of the poor. To reform sentiments, to spread familiarity and love among the members of the Muslim community, and to strengthen the principles of interdependence and social solidarity which Islam calls for. All this and more lies in the consequences of paying this duty. In Surat al-Tawbah, the statement is divine:

Take Sadaqah (alms) from their wealth in order to purify them

Surah Al Tawaba – 103-Part

Servants of Allah, in Surah Al-Dhar is the divine statement:

And they give food, in spite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (the poor), the orphan, and the captive, (8) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allâh's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.

Surah Al Insan – 8-9

Zakat is the right of the poor on the money in your possession and Zakat is obligatory on certain types of money or property. Zakat is obligatory on gold and silver, on merchandise, and on cattle that roam, and on grain and fruits that are stored and fed. All this is done when the Nisab is completed and a lunar year has passed, except for the zakat of fruits, whose zakat is due on the day they are harvested. ALLAH says in Surah Al-An'am:

Eat of their fruit when they ripen, but pay the due thereof (its Zakât, according to Allâh's Orders 1/10th or 1/20th) on the day of its harvest,

Surah Al Anaam – 141-Part

If the amount of zakat reaches the Nisab and one year has passed, zakat should be paid immediately without any hesitation or negligence. Allah's mercy on His servants is evident in the fulfillment of this duty. Zakat is not obligatory on all types of wealth. The distribution of Zakat is not left to the discretion of any human being, rather it has been included in detail by the All-Wise Lord in His sent book. He says in Surat al-Tawbah:

As-Sadaqât (here it means Zakât) are only for the Fuqarâ'[] (poor), and Al-Masâkin[] (the poor) and those employed to collect (the funds); and to attract the hearts of those who have been inclined (towards Islâm); and to free the captives; and for those in debt; and for Allâh's Cause (i.e. for Mujâhidûn - those fighting in the holy battle), and for the wayfarer (a traveller who is cut off from everything); a duty imposed by Allâh. And Allâh is All-Knower, All-Wise.

Surah At Tawba – 60

Therefore, it is obligatory for every person to ensure that his zakat reaches the deserving person. Do not pay Zakat to anyone without knowing his circumstances and resources. It is only for those who deserve it. Whenever the rich people of the society give zakat of their wealth, they free the society from envy, hatred and selfishness, thus they open the doors of good deeds and close the doors of evil deeds. ALLAH says in Surat Al-Lail:

As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allâh and fears Him, (5) And believes in Al-Husna. (6) We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness).

Surah Al Lail – 5-7

O you who believe, then fear Allah and comfort your poor brothers without hypocrisy, arrogance and favoritism. ALLAH says in Surah Al-Muzmal:

And whatever good you send before you for yourselves, (i.e. Nawâfil non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and 'Umrah), you will certainly find it with Allâh, better and greater in reward.

Surah Al Muzzammil – 20-Part

========================================================

Praise be to Allah, the Most Bestower, I praise Him for His great bounties, and I thank Him for His great generosity, and I bear witness that except Allah There is no God, He has no partner, and I bear witness that our Lord and Master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, is His servant and Messenger, the pure and faithful Prophet. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, (peace be upon him and), his family, companions, and those who follow him righteously until the Day of Judgment.

Fear the servants of Allah, the interest of the members of the community in researching the poor and indigent and meeting their needs is very important and they have an important role in this... to deliver Zakat and charity to the deserving. Whose chastity and modesty prevent them from asking people, that is, they prevent them from extending their hands. ALLAH says in Surah Al-Baqarah:

(Charity is) for Fuqarâ (the poor), who in Allâh's Cause are restricted (from travel), and cannot move about in the land (for trade or work). The one who knows them not, thinks that they are rich because of their modesty. You may know them by their mark, they do not beg of people at all.

Surah Al Baqara – 273-Part

The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has formed Zakat Committees in all the states related to the issue of Zakat, and these committees play an important role in searching eligible persons and registering them on an electronic portal in accordance with an accurate control. The electronic system also facilitates a Zakat calculation service so that taxpayers know how much they have to pay, apart from the service to ensure easy and quick payment of Zakat, charity, and kaffarah, for it to be delivered to the deserving people.

So, O people of Allah, fear Allah, cooperate with the Zakat Committees, and make use of modern technology that will benefit you. And use the means that will help you excel with each other in worship. Be thankful for what Allah has given you. Hasten to give Zakat and charity.
