Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life. Here guidance from Quran for the followers of Islam (السَّلامُ... دَعْوَ ةُ الإِسْلامِ لِلْعَالَمِ : Peace...the call of Islam to the world.) is discussed wrt the religion of Islam calls for universal peace for better living from Quran and Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. This is an approved Jumma Khutba from the Sultanate of Oman and translated in English.
In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Peace...the call of Islam to the world.
Praise be to Allah, who is characterized by perfection, and who says in the decisive Book: Allâh calls to the Home of peace (i.e. Paradise, by accepting Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds and abstaining from polytheism and evil deeds) and guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. We bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; He is Peace, from Him comes peace, and to Him all matters return in peace. We also bear witness that our master and prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, the servant of Allah and His Messenger; Allah sent him as a mercy to the worlds and a light illuminating the path of the believers. He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, and offered sincere counsel to the Ummah—may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow his path until the Day of Judgment. This is the recited verse from Surah An Nisa and its translation:
Surah An Nisa – 36
Surah Al Hujraat – 6
Surah Al Hujraat – 9-12
Surah Taha – 25-28
Worship Allâh and join none with Him (in worship), and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masâkin (the poor), the neighbour who is near of kin, the neighbour who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess. Verily, Allâh does not like such as are proud and boastful; (36)
Surah An Nisa – 36
ALLAH says in Surah Al Hujraat
you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar — evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.
Surah Al Hujraat – 6
ALLAH says in next verses:
And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, But if one of them outrages against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which outrages till it complies with the Command of Allâh; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allâh loves those who are equitable. (9) The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islâmic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allâh, that you may receive mercy. (10) O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; Nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, Nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked"]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zâlimûn (wrong-doers). (11) O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting)[] . And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful. (12)
Surah Al Hujraat – 9-12
O servants of ALLAH: Fear ALLAH and Adopt piety and obey ALLAH. O you who have believed, fear Allah as He ought to be feared۔ ALLAH says in Surah Aal E Imran
and die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allâh)
Surah Aal E Imran – 102-Part
Know—may Allah have mercy upon you—that Islam is a religion of security and safety, of peace and harmony. From the moment the dawn of Islam broke—spreading its radiance, shining forth its light, and bathing the universe in its brilliance—it has proclaimed peace, called for it, and established the wise principles that lead to it. Islam’s call for peace stems from its high regard for life and the right of every human being to live under the canopy of tranquility, enveloped in security and surrounded by serenity; for in the shadow of peace, humanity moves toward its noble goals, securing advancement, progress, and a happy life for human society.
Therefore—O servants of Allah—Islam transformed society from one state to another: from a state of warfare and aggression to one of peace and tolerance, from division to unity, and from racism to equality. These are the principles of Islam; they neither change nor alter, regardless of the passage of time or the change of place. Indeed, a contemplative look at the Holy Quran and the biography of the Prophet of the Ummah is sufficient to crystallize these noble principles and values. The Almighty says in Surah Aal E Imran:
And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur'ân), and be not divided among yourselves[], and remember Allâh's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islâmic Faith),
Surah Aal E Imran – 103-Part
Islam has also called for mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence, urging people to interact based on their shared humanity—a framework within which diverse civilizational ties among peoples can flourish. This approach is capable of defusing the animosity, hatred, and fanaticism that have long afflicted humanity as a whole. The Almighty says in Surah Al Hujraat:
O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2). Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
Surah Al Hujraat – 13
Brothers in faith:The noble Prophetic biography serves as a way of life; it conveys a message to all people, calling upon them to adhere to the Divine path—which advocates tolerance and forgiveness when one has the power to retaliate—and to reject all forms of violence and aggression. A prime example of this is what our trustworthy Prophet Muhammad—may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him—faced whenever he called people to Islam. He was met with a clamorous barrage of insolence, obscenity, verbal abuse, and physical blows; yet, his only response was to say: "Perhaps Allah will bring forth from their loins those who will worship Allah alone." "O Allah, guide my people, for they do not know"—as well as the bond of brotherhood he (peace be upon him) established between the Emigrants (Muhajirun) and the Helpers (Ansar) in Medina following the noble Prophetic Migration from Mecca; and the general amnesty granted upon the Conquest of Mecca, when he (peace be upon him) asked, "O people of Quraysh, what do you think I am about to do with you?" They replied, "Good—a noble brother and the son of a noble brother." He said, "Go, for you are free." Thus, in its principles and values, Islam has always called for fostering a spirit of love, security, and peace among people.
So fear Allah—O servants of Allah—and establish security and peace among yourselves, and your Lord will admit you into the Abode of Peace.
I say what you hear, and I ask forgiveness from ALLAH Almighty for me and for you, so ask forgiveness from Him and He will forgive you, for He is the Forgiving and Merciful, and pray to Him and He will answer you, for He is The noble righteousness
Praise be to Allah, the Sovereign, the Holy, and the Source of Peace. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner; He honored us with security and faith and guided us to Islam. I also bear witness that our master and prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, the servant of Allah and His Messenger; he guided humanity to goodness through his message. May peace and blessings be upon him, his family, his companions, and those who follow his guidance until the Day of Judgment.
:
To proceed, O servants of Allah: Know that Islam calls for pardon and forgiveness, for being a good neighbor, for showing kindness to people, and for upholding justice and equality among them. The Truth—Blessed and Exalted is He—says in Surah Al Baqara:
and speak good to people [i.e. enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, and say the truth about Muhammad Peace be upon him ]
Surah Al Baqara – 83-Part
And He—Glorious is His Majesty—says in Surah Al Maeda:
and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice.
Surah Al Maeda – 8-Part
The teachings of Islam aim for people—regardless of their diverse colors and races—to live in security and peace, in love and harmony, and far removed from conflict, hatred, and discord. Had people embraced this divine guidance with sincere, devout hearts and pure, virtuous consciences, they would have lived secure, happy, and at peace, united in brotherhood and cooperation.
The Holy Quran abounds with calls inviting people to these refined qualities and noble virtues; indeed, the Truth—Glory be to Him and Exalted is He—reminds them of their shared origin, thereby awakening within them a sense of mercy and love and calling them to praiseworthy conduct. The Almighty says in Surah Al Nisa:
O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allâh through Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)[]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an All¬Watcher over you.
Surah Al Nisa – 1
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade every reprehensible trait that weakens human relationships and destroys the bonds between people. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not envy one another, do not artificially inflate prices [to deceive others], do not hate one another, do not turn your backs on one another, and do not undercut one another’s transactions; rather, be servants of Allah and brothers."
So fear Allah—O servants of Allah—for through piety, life becomes pure, the earth flourishes, and humanity finds happiness.
