الإِسْرَاءُ وَالـمِعْرَاجُ ثَـبَاتٌ عَلَى العَقِيدَةِ وَالقِيَمِ :The Isra and Mi'raj are a testament to steadfastness in faith and values.

Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life. Here guidance from Quran for the followers of Islam (الإِسْرَاءُ وَالـمِعْرَاجُ ثَـبَاتٌ عَلَى العَقِيدَةِ وَالقِيَمِ :The Isra and Mi'raj are a testament to steadfastness in faith and values) is discussed wrt the Ascension / Asra / Mi'raj of Holy Prophet on the night of 27th Rajab is a sign of Belief for better living from Quran and Hadith of Prophet ﷺ. This is an approved Jumma Khutba from the Sultanate of Oman and translated in English.

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

الإِسْرَاءُ وَالـمِعْرَاجُ ثَـبَاتٌ عَلَى العَقِيدَةِ وَالقِيَمِ

The Isra and Mi'raj (Night Journey and Ascension) are a testament to steadfastness in faith and values.

Praise be to ALLAH, the One who is characterized by greatness and majesty, who made the Night Journey and Ascension two signs by which He strengthened the hearts of the believers. We bear witness that there is no god but ALLAH alone, without partner, the Great, the Exalted. We bear witness that our master and prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the servant of ALLAH and His messenger, was the most steadfast of people in the face of falsehood until it perished and disappeared. May the prayers and peace of ALLAH be upon him, his family and his companions. This is the translation of the recited verse from Surah Al Israa:

 أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فاعوذ باللہ من الشیطان الرجیم- بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم 

سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَسۡرَىٰ بِعَبۡدِهِۦ لَيۡلاً۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ إِلَى ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡأَقۡصَا ٱلَّذِى بَـٰرَكۡنَا حَوۡلَهُ ۥ لِنُرِيَهُ ۥ مِنۡ ءَايَـٰتِنَآ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ

Glorified (and Exalted) is He (Allâh) [above all that (evil) they associate with Him]. Who took His slave (Muhammad SAW) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (at Makkah) to Al-Masjid-al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad SAW) of Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

Surah Al Isra – 1

O servants of ALLAH: fear ALLAH and adopt piety and obey ALLAH. O believers: there have emerged in the history of Muslims events that have left a positive mark on their souls, so that their hearts are revived by remembering these events, and their faith is strengthened by contemplating the great power of ALLAH in them. Among these great events is an event in which divine power is manifested, and in which souls ascend from the narrowness of affliction to the vastness of hope, and from the confusion of the path to the light of confirmation. It is the event of the Night Journey and Ascension. It was not merely a miracle that bewildered the hearts of the idolaters, but rather a divine gift by which our Lord established for the nation the foundations of faith, and in which He established for us the meanings of steadfastness on values in a time of tribulations. So when the people of Quraysh harmed the Messenger of ALLAH and his companions, seeking to make him abandon ALLAH Almighty’s command to spread His blessed religion, ALLAH Almighty commanded him to be patient and persevere, as He Almighty says in Surah Al Maarij:

فَٱصۡبِرۡ صَبۡرً۬ا جَمِيلاً

So be patient (O Muhammad SAW ), with a good patience.

Surah Al Maarij – 5

The event of the Isra and Mi’raj was a reinforcement of this patience, a strengthening of faith in his heart, and an eternal message that victory is a matter of patience for an hour, and that whoever is steadfast with ALLAH, ALLAH will strengthen him, raise him up, and support him with a spirit from Him.

O Muslims: Among the signs of steadfast faith is the heart's unwavering belief in the Prophet, peace be upon him. Those who doubt the Prophet's words will only suffer hardship. And among the most beautiful narrations on this matter is what was related by the Mother of the Believers, Seyyedah Aisha (may ALLAH be pleased with her): When the Prophet, peace be upon him, was taken on the Night Journey to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, people began talking about it. Some of those who had believed in him and trusted him turned away and went to Seyyedina Abu Bakr, may ALLAH be pleased with him, with this news, saying: “Do you have any news of your companion who claims that he was taken on the Night Journey to Jerusalem?” He said: Did he say that? They said: Yes. He said: If he said that, then he has spoken the truth. They said: Do you believe him that he went to Jerusalem last night and came back before morning? He said: Yes, I believe him in matters even more far-fetched than that; I believe him regarding news from heaven in the morning or evening. He did not hesitate, nor did he seek proof, but rather submitted with a confident heart, a discerning mind, and unwavering certainty. Thus, he deserved to be called the Truthful One, and to be the most steadfast of people in the darkest of situations. This indicates a heart that ascended to ALLAH, so that no trial could shake it, nor any doubt confound it. He was a symbol of supreme trust, and a support for the Messenger of ALLAH in the journey of conveying and explaining, carrying the banner of truth when hearts trembled, and strengthening the ranks when souls were troubled, until ALLAH revealed, as confirmation, strengthening, and consolation to His Prophet, peace be upon him, the Almighty’s words in Surah Al Najam:

وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ (١) مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ (٢) وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ (٣) إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡىٌ۬ يُوحَىٰ

By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). (1) Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. (2) Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (3) It is only a Revelation revealed. (4)

Surah An Najam – 1-4

O servants of ALLAH: When a believer contemplates the journey of Isra and Mi'raj, his mind does not stop at the distances involved, but rather he journeys with his thoughts and heart to the profound truths of faith, and he comes to understand the greatness of ALLAH, the Almighty, who is capable of what minds cannot comprehend, the One who says in Surah Ash Shura

لَيۡسَ كَمِثۡلِهِۦ شَىۡءٌ۬‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ

There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

Surah Ash Shura – 11-Part

He reflects on the final prophecy and the eternal message that God intended as a light for all the worlds and guidance for all people, as He, may His glory be exalted, says in Surah Ash Shura:

وَإِنَّكَ لَتَہۡدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ۬

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism)

Surah Ash Shura – 52-Part

In that great journey, the truth of the message is revealed, and the high status of the Prophet, peace be upon him, with the Lord of the Worlds is demonstrated, and the inability of the human mind to know the essence of the unseen becomes apparent, except what ALLAH Almighty reveals to it. ALLAH says in Surah Al Anaam

وَعِندَهُ ۥ مَفَاتِحُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَا يَعۡلَمُهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۚ

And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He.

Surah Al Anaam – 59-Part

And the believer comes, when he ponders the events of the Isra and Mi'raj, to the reality of reward and punishment, and that the Hereafter is the abode of recompense. Our Lord, may His glory be exalted, says in Surah Al Qasas:

تِلۡكَ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡأَخِرَةُ نَجۡعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّ۬ا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فَسَادً۬ا‌ۚ وَٱلۡعَـٰقِبَةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ

That home of the Hereafter (i.e. Paradise), We shall assign to those who rebel not against the truth with pride[] and oppression in the land nor do mischief by committing crimes. And the good end is for the Muttaqûn (pious righteous persons - see V.2:2).

Surah Al Qasas – 83-Part

It is a journey of strengthening and insight, and a renewal of faith in ALLAH's promise, for those who use their intellect, revive their hearts, and walk in the light of the Prophet's guidance, peace be upon him.

So fear ALLAH, O servants of ALLAH, and let the event of the Night Journey and Ascension strengthen your faith in ALLAH, the Almighty, who says in Surah Az Zumr

لَّهُ ۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, such are they who will be the losers.

Surah Az Zumr – 63

أقولُ مَا تَسْمَعُونَ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ العَظِيمَ لِي وَلَكُمْ، فَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ، إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُالرَّحِيمُ، وَادْعُوهُ يَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ، إِنَّهُ هُوَ البَرُّ الكَرِيمُ

I say what you hear, and I ask forgiveness from ALLAH Almighty for me and for you, so ask forgiveness from Him and He will forgive you, for He is the Forgiving and Merciful, and pray to Him and He will answer you, for He is The noble righteousness

   الحَمْدُ للَّهِ فِي الغُدُوِّ وَالآصَالِ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الكَبِيرُ المُتَعَالِ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ كَرِيمُ الخِصَالِ صَلاةً وَسَلامًا دَائِمَيْنِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ، وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُمْ بإِحْسانٍ إِلَى دَارِ المَآلِ

Praise be to ALLAH morning and evening, and I bear witness that there is no god but ALLAH, the Great, the Exalted, and I bear witness that Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the Messenger of ALLAH, of noble character. May ALLAH’s prayers and peace be upon him, upon his family and good companions, and whoever follows their path until the Day of Judgment.

Now then, fear ALLAH, O servants of ALLAH, and know that the people of falsehood are hastening their steps to shake the hearts of the believers with doubts and trials. Our Lord, may His greatness be exalted, says in Surah Al Baqara:

وَدَّ ڪَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَوۡ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ إِيمَـٰنِكُمۡ كُفَّارًا حَسَدً۬ا مِّنۡ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ

Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even after the truth (that Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allâh's Messenger) has become manifest unto them.

Surah Al Baqara – 109-Part

They do not resent the believers except that they have believed in their Lord. ALLAH Almighty says in Surah Al Barooj:

وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡہُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ

And they had no fault except that they believed in Allâh, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

Surah Al Barooj – 8

So remember, O servant of ALLAH, that the steadfastness that was recorded in the pages of early Islamic history is the same steadfastness that is possible today for those who hold fast to the rope of ALLAH and hold fast to the light of His Book. The Qur’an, which told us the stories of the steadfastness of the believers, does not change. It is the divine book of the nation, in which He says in Surah Fussilat 

لَّا يَأۡتِيهِ ٱلۡبَـٰطِلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَلَا مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ‌ۖ تَنزِيلٌ۬ مِّنۡ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٍ۬

Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it (it is) sent down by the All-Wise, Worthy of all praise (Allâh swt).

Surah Fussilat – 42

And indeed, when a believer prepares his heart to receive the light of faith, and has good thoughts about his Lord, ALLAH will elevate him to the ranks of steadfastness. ALLAH Almighty says in Surah Ibrahim:

يُثَبِّتُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ ٱلثَّابِتِ فِى ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۖ

Allâh will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allâh Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter.

Surah Ibrahim – 27-Part

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate to ALLAH to strengthen his heart. On the authority of Seyyedah Umm Salamah (may ALLAH be pleased with her), she said: “His most frequent supplication was: ‘O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.’”

So fear ALLAH, O servants of ALLAH, and adorn your tongues with the words of your Lord, ALLAH. ALLAH says in Surah Aal E Imran

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةً‌ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ

(They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower,"

Surah Aal E Imran – 8

So pray and send peace upon the leader of the messengers, Muhammad, the guide and trustworthy. Your Lord has commanded you to do so when He said: “Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and salute him with a worthy salutation.” 

He says in Surah Al Ahzab: ALLAH and His kingdom send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, pray upon him and grant him peace.

Surah Al Ahzaab – 56

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وسَلِّم عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ وسَلَّمتَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ نَبِيِّنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، وَارْضَ اللَّهُمَّ عَنْ خُلَفَائِهِ الرَّاشِدِينَ، وَعَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَعَنْ سَائِرِ الصَّحَابَةِ أَجْمَعِينَ، وَعَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، وعَنْ جَمْعِنَا هَذَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O ALLAH, bless and grant peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon the family of our Prophet Muhammad, as You prayed and peace upon our Prophet Abraham and upon the family of our Prophet Abraham, and bless our Prophet Muhammad and the family of our Prophet Muhammad, just as You blessed our Prophet Abraham and the family of our Prophet Abraham in the worlds. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. And be pleased, O Allah, with his Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and with his wives, the Mothers of the Believers, and with all the rest of the Companions, and with the believing men and women, and with this gathering of ours, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ جَمْعَنَا هَذَا جَمْعًا مَرْحُوْمًا، وَاجْعَلْ تَفَرُّقَنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ تَفَرُّقًا مَعْصُوْمًا وَلا تَدَعْ فِينَا وَلا مَعَنَا شَقِيًّا وَلا مَحْرُومًا

Oh ALLAH, make this gathering of us a merciful gathering, and make our separation after it an infallible separation, and do not leave among us or with us any wretched or deprived.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلامَ وَاهْدِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى الْحَقِّ، وَاجْمعْ كَلِمَتَهُمْ عَلَى الخَيْرِ، وَاكْسِرْ شَوْكَةَ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَاكْتُبِ السَّلامَ وَالأَمْنَ لِعِبادِكَ أَجْمَعِينَ

Oh ALLAH, honor Islam, guide Muslims to the truth, unite their words in goodness, break the power of the oppressors, and grant peace and security to your servants. All of them. 

اللَّهُمَّ كُنْ عَوْنًا لإِخْوَانِنَا فِي أَرْضِ الأَقْصَى المُبَارَكِ، وَكُنْ مَعَهُمْ وَثَبِّـتْهُمْ وَارْبِطْ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَصَبِّرْهُمْ، وَاخْذُلْ عَدُوَّكَ وَعَدُوَّهُمْ، وَاجْعَلِ الدَّائِرَةَ عَلَيْهِ يَا ذَا الجَلالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

O Allah, be a helper to our brothers in the blessed land of Al-Aqsa, be with them, strengthen them, strengthen their hearts, and grant them patience. Disappoint Your enemy and their enemy, and turn the tables on him, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ الثَّباتَ فِي الأَمْرِ، وَالعَزِيمَةَ عَلَى الرُّشْدِ، ونَسْأَلُكَ شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ، ونَسْأَلُكَ قُلُوبًا سَلِيمةً وأَلْسِنةً صَادِقةً، ونَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَعْلَمُ، وَنعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا تَعْلَمُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تَعْلَمُ

O Allah, we ask You for steadfastness in our affairs and determination to do what is right. We ask You for gratitude for Your blessings and proper worship of You. We ask You for sound hearts and truthful tongues. We ask You for the best of what You know and seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know. We seek Your forgiveness for what You know.

اللَّهُمَّ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ يَا ذَا الجَلالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ بِكَ نَستَجِيرُ وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ نَستَغِيثُ أَلاَّ تَكِلَنَا إِلَى أَنفُسِنَا طَرفَةَ عَينٍ، وَلاَ أَدنَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَأَصلِحْ لَنَا شَأْنَنَا كُلَّهُ يَا مُصلِحَ شَأْنِ الصَّالِحِينَ

Oh ALLAH, O Ever-Living, O Ever-Living, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour, there is no god but You, Glory be to You, by You we seek refuge and by Your mercy we seek help, that you will not leave us to Our souls are within the blink of an eye, and nothing is closer than that. And rectify for us all our affairs, O Reconciliator, the affairs of the righteous.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا احْفَظْ أَوْطَانَنَا وَأَعِزَّ سُلْطَانَنَا وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَيِّدْ بِهِ الْحَقَّ يَا رَبَّ العَالَمِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ أَسْبِغْ عَلَيْهِ نِعمَتَكَ، وَأَيِّدْهُ بِنُورِ حِكْمَتِكَ، وَسَدِّدْهُ بِتَوفِيقِكَ، وَاحفَظْهُ بِعَينِ رعَايَتِكَ

Oh ALLAH, our Lord, protect our countries, honor our authority, support it with the truth, and support it with the truth, O Lord of the worlds. Oh God, bestow your blessing upon him, support it with the light of your wisdom, guide it with your blessings, and protect it with your care.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِ السَّمَاء وَأَخْرِجْ لَنَا مِنْ خَيْرَاتِ الأَرْضِ، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا في ثِمَارِنَا وَزُرُوعِنَا وكُلِّ أَرزَاقِنَا يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

O ALLAH, send down upon us from the blessings of the sky and bring forth for us from the goodness of the earth, and bless for us our fruits and our crops and all our provisions, O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا في الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالمُؤْمِنَات، المُسْلِمِينَ وَالمُسْلِمَات، الأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالأَمْوَاتِ، إِنَّكَ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبُ الدُّعَاءِ

O ALLAH, forgive the believing men and women, the Muslim men and women, the living and the dead among them. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the Near, the Answerer of supplications.

عِبَادَ الله

 إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنِ وَإِيتَآىِٕ ذِى ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَيَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنڪَرِ وَٱلۡبَغۡىِ‌ۚ يَعِظُكُمۡ لَعَلَّڪُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ

O servants of ALLAH - Indeed, ALLAH commands justice and good deeds, and bestows favor on relatives, and forbids indecency. And the denier and the transgressor admonish you that you may remember.

Surah An Nahl-90

وآخر دعوانا ان الحمد للہ رب العالمین- سبحان ربک رب العزة عما يصفون، وسلام على المرسلين، والحمد لله رب العالمين
