Al Quran is the final Holy Book revealed upon the Last of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran & Sunnah is the only source of holy guidance as it entails detailed instructions for each and every walk of human life.

In the name of ALLAH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Useful knowledge is good for the individual and society

Praise be to ALLAH, who made knowledge a light and guidance, and made seeking it in the way of ALLAH the highest goal. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad, peace be upon him, is His servant and Messenger, who strove in the way of spreading knowledge with the best of endeavors. May the prayers and peace of ALLAH be upon him, his family, his companions, the torches of knowledge, and upon those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment. This is the verse from Surah TaHa and its translation of the recited verse:

and say: "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."

Surah TaHa – 114-Part

O servants of ALLAH: Fear ALLAH and Adopt piety and obey ALLAH. ALLAH says in Surah Aal E Imran

He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allâh)].

Surah Aal E Imran – 102-Part

Know, O Muslims, that ALLAH, whose names and attributes are sanctified, has raised the status of knowledge and its people, and has elevated its beacon and its importance. Because in knowledge, there is goodness for the individual, and in the goodness of the individual there is goodness for society, and in the goodness of society there is goodness for the entire nation, and the individual does not acquire his goodness except through righteous deeds. Righteous deeds cannot be accomplished without beneficial knowledge, by which a person can distinguish between righteousness and wickedness, goodness and evil, and guidance and misguidance. If you understand this, O Muslim, you will understand why Allah, the Most High, commanded us to increase our knowledge, saying to His noble Prophet in Surah TaHa:

and say: "My Lord! Increase me in knowledge."

Surah Ta Ha – 114-Part

Reflect on this divine command, in which ALLAH did not simply command us to ask Him for knowledge, but rather commanded us to seek more from Him. This is sufficient as a reminder of His great favor and a declaration of His sublime status. It is no wonder, then, that our Prophet would begin his day with the well-known supplication:

O ALLAH, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.

There are great implications in prioritizing beneficial knowledge over good provision and righteous deeds. Among the ways in which the Qur’an honours knowledge and scholars is that ALLAH Almighty has restricted the fear of Him, the true fear, to scholars, as He Almighty says in Surah Fatir:

It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allâh.

Surah Fatir – 28-Part

So whoever is most knowledgeable about ALLAH will fear Him more, and whoever is most fearful of Him will be more pious and pure. In another Quranic context, the question came to differentiate between knowledge and ignorance, and to reveal the status of scholars. So He - the Almighty says in Surah Az Zumr:

Say: "Are those who know equal to those who know not?"

Surah Az Zumr – 09-Part

What is meant is that they are not equal. This is because ALLAH Almighty has linked the greatest testimony—His testimony, glory be to Him—with the greatest thing that is witnessed to, which is His Oneness, glory be to Him. He has linked it with the testimony of the angels and those possessing knowledge, as He, glory be to Him, says in Surah Aal E Imran:

Allâh bears witness that Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness);

Surah Aal E Imran – 18-Part

What honor and status have scholars and men of learning attained! For this reason, some of the gnostics said, "It is enough of an honor for knowledge that everyone claims it, and enough of a disgrace for ignorance that everyone disavows it."

Fellow seekers of knowledge: Knowledge, along with sincerity in it, is a path to entering the Gardens of Bliss. The Master of Messengers, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever takes a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.” So this is a path to Paradise calling you. Fellow Muslims, He is calling your children from behind you, "Come to the best of this world and the Hereafter, to the elevation of this world above the worlds, and to the company of the prophets, saints, scholars, and righteous people in the Hereafter." The Messenger of ALLAH, may ALLAH bless him and grant him peace, commanded the pursuit of knowledge with a firm and decisive command, saying: The pursuit of knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim. This enables Muslims to understand that, in their religion, knowledge is neither a luxury nor a choice. Rather, it is a religious, legal, and moral duty, dictated by religion to their consciences, as well as by regulations, rules, and laws. And look, my Muslim brother, at this compassionate and tender prophetic speech in which the Messenger of ALLAH advises the seeker of knowledge. Seyyedina Abu Sa`id al-Khudri, may ALLAH be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace be upon him said: People will come to you seeking knowledge. When you see them, say to them: Welcome, welcome to the testament of the Messenger of ALLAH. Is there anyone who will neglect this call after this? Is there anyone who will turn away or stay behind after this compassionate call?

So fear ALLAH, O servants of ALLAH, and seek knowledge, and instruct your children to seek it as ALLAH and His Messenger, peace be upon him, commanded, and be sincere in your intention for the sake of ALLAH the Most High, and you will win His Paradise and attain His vast mercy.

I say what you hear, and I ask forgiveness from God Almighty for me and for you, so ask forgiveness from Him and He will forgive you, for He is the Forgiving and Merciful, and pray to Him and He will answer you, for He is The noble righteousness

Praise be to ALLAH, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise, and blessings and peace be upon the Master of the Worlds. I bear witness that there is no god but ALLAH alone, without partner, The Creator of the first and the last. I bear witness that our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, is His servant and Messenger. He is, by ALLAH, the best of those who know. May ALLAH’s prayers and peace be upon him, upon his family and good companions, and his followers until the Day of Judgment.

Now then, O guardians of affairs, and O fathers: You have known that the Messenger of ALLAH, peace be upon him, said: “Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.” The first of your flock are your children, whom Allah has entrusted to you in raising and teaching them the affairs of their religion and their worldly affairs. The greatest, most valuable and most sublime thing a father can offer his son is, Or a guardian for his successors; to set their feet on the path of knowledge and to guide them along His straight path, which guarantees for them, by ALLAH’s permission, believing souls at peace, pure hearts, intelligent minds, pleasing deeds, and a good reputation among people in this life and after death. The role of the guardian of the child or student in this is a great role, and their duty is a grave duty. The son or daughter in the childhood stage does not know what is required of them, and they do not approve of anything except what their parents approve for them. The guardian’s duty towards his guardians is to be truthful in seeking their interests and what benefits them in their religion, their worldly life, their livelihood, and their afterlife. If he does not do so, then he has betrayed the trust and deceived his offspring, and for that he is threatened with the most severe threat from the Messenger of ALLAH, peace be upon him. When he said: “There is no servant whom ALLAH has entrusted with the care of a flock and who dies on the day he dies having deceived his flock, except that ALLAH will forbid him Paradise.” Therefore, whoever is responsible for children’s affairs must take the initiative to take good care of them, and this begins with enrolling them in school. And strive to educate and raise them, so that they may fulfill the trust as ALLAH has commanded, clear their conscience before their Lord, and raise a righteous generation that will benefit themselves, their religion, and their country.

Finally, servants of ALLAH, one of the trusts that we have been entrusted with is that we should be keen on educating our children. We take the initiative to register them in regular schools from the beginning of their education, in compliance with the directives of the competent authorities and in fulfillment of our religious and national duty. Every parent who has a child who will start first grade next academic year should register him now, as registration has begun. Delaying registration disrupts educational planning and prevents accurate information, which impacts the quality of organization and preparation. Early registration demonstrates cooperation with the nation, concern for the children's interests, and a true sense of belonging to the future.

So fear ALLAH, O servants of ALLAH, and strive to serve your children’s interests and secure their academic and scientific future.

Surah Al Ahzaab – 56

So pray and send peace upon the leader of the messengers, Muhammad, the guide and trustworthy. Your Lord has commanded you to do so when He said: “Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and salute him with a worthy salutation.”

He says in Surah Al Ahzab: ALLAH and His kingdom send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, pray upon him and grant him peace.

Surah Al Ahzaab – 56

O ALLAH, bless and grant peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon the family of our Prophet Muhammad, as You prayed and peace upon our Prophet Abraham and upon the family of our Prophet Abraham, and bless our Prophet Muhammad and the family of our Prophet Muhammad, just as You blessed our Prophet Abraham and the family of our Prophet Abraham in the worlds. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. And be pleased, O Allah, with his Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and with his wives, the Mothers of the Believers, and with all the rest of the Companions, and with the believing men and women, and with this gathering of ours, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Oh ALLAH, make this gathering of us a merciful gathering, and make our separation after it an infallible separation, and do not leave among us or with us any wretched or deprived.

Oh ALLAH, honor Islam, guide Muslims to the truth, unite their words in goodness, break the power of the oppressors, and grant peace and security to your servants. All of them.

O Allah, be a helper to our brothers in the blessed land of Al-Aqsa, be with them, strengthen them, strengthen their hearts, and grant them patience. Disappoint Your enemy and their enemy, and turn the tables on him, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.

O Allah, we ask You for steadfastness in our affairs and determination to do what is right. We ask You for gratitude for Your blessings and proper worship of You. We ask You for sound hearts and truthful tongues. We ask You for the best of what You know and seek refuge in You from the worst of what You know. We seek Your forgiveness for what You know.

Oh ALLAH, O Ever-Living, O Ever-Living, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour, there is no god but You, Glory be to You, by You we seek refuge and by Your mercy we seek help, that you will not leave us to Our souls are within the blink of an eye, and nothing is closer than that. And rectify for us all our affairs, O Reconciliator, the affairs of the righteous.

Oh ALLAH, our Lord, protect our countries, honor our authority, support it with the truth, and support it with the truth, O Lord of the worlds. Oh God, bestow your blessing upon him, Support it with the light of your wisdom, guide it with your blessings, and protect it with your care.

O ALLAH, send down upon us from the blessings of the sky and bring forth for us from the goodness of the earth, and bless for us our fruits and our crops and all our provisions, O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity.

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

O ALLAH, forgive the believing men and women, the Muslim men and women, the living and the dead among them. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the Near, the Answerer of supplications.

O servants of ALLAH - Indeed, ALLAH commands justice and good deeds, and bestows favor on relatives, and forbids indecency. And the denier and the transgressor admonish you that you may remember.

Surah An Nahl-90
